3rd period will be starting right when my church starts.... Weird that we played 2 pm games virtually the entire tournament and then that's the potential gold medal game time if we make it

The gold medal game in hockey has always been the showcase event of the winter games' last day - always in the morning before the closing ceremonies like the marathon in the summer games. Nothing weird about it.

These 2 o’clock games in America might be around 8 o’clock Italy time. I’ll leave that to your world travelers to figure that out. The 940 starts could just be late morning orafternoon games that we’ve seen a lot of

7:10am =s 2:10pm Italian time. So it should be finished by 5:30 and then the Closing Ceremonies.

Hi Russ,
Most of Western Europe (including Italy) are 7 hours ahead of US Central time.

So, 2:00 in Central US = 9:00 in Western Europe including Italy.

The far west of Europe, namely UK and Portugal are 6 hours ahead of us.

One exception to all of this: Their “summer time” which is what we call Daylight Savings, doesn’t occur exactly the same day as ours, so for about one week, things get jumbled up. I can’t remember for sure, but I seem to recall they go to summer time a week after we do. Before I retired, I worked for an energy company with a refineries in England, Scotland, Germany, &
France, and Australia. Lots of telecon consults at odd hours.

When in doubt, look at your “World Clock” on your iPhone.

BTW, good thing they’re not doing this in Newfoundland where their time is 2:30 ahead of ours! The rest of Canada pokes fun at Newfies for many reasons and this is one of them! 🤣

So we’re looking at an afternoon game. Thanks everyone.
I rarely leave the central time zone

My hope is that Binnington does not get embarrassed because I really look for a high scoring game. Both goalies are vulnerable and this should look like an All-Star game…high scoring. I’m looking at something like 7-5, maybe a bit higher.
While a Championship game like this bring great confidence to players, it can also leave to self-doubt. I guess I’m just a worrier. I don’t like to see anybody embarrassed in the focus. Definitely will be on goaltending. Funny though those two goals last game were much more a problem with play in the defensive zone. Then it becomes lucky if you get your equipment on the puck and stop the puck from going in.

OK, the time getting near, so we’ll see what happens.
Let us hope for a 3-2 thriller

This is NOT going to be played like an NHL All-Star game. We can expect the pace to be extraordinarily fast, checking to be tight and heavy, highly disciplined play and teamwork. It's going to be the best quality of hockey we will see for at least another four years.

Expect to see goals scored off elite shots, deflections, and passing plays. I do not anticipate a shutout.

For the sake of fans and players it's a shame Russia is not in the tournament. They might have grabbed the Bronze.

I see, Dawg,you don’t expect a free-for-all.
I would hope that there’s no questionable goals..maybe a barnburner. I’m nervous for the goalies, but that’s nothing new

Being the last game I'm predicting the Tkachuk twins doing something du-mb.
