Mizzou @ Arky
Maybe they'll be tired after going double OT in the loss to Bama while we rested the last 8 minutes in our game. Freshman phenom, Darius Acuff, scored 49 points! If he would have hit a difficult layup at the end of the 2nd OT, he would have not only tied the game again but also equaled the single game Arky scoring record (51). In another game on the same night, Josh Hubbard of Miss St scored 46 vs Auburn. Quite a night! Mizzou's single game scoring record was set in 1961 by Joe Scott (46 vs NE).
Re: Mizzou @ Arky
MizzouMarv just curious but where did you find the 46pt high game from as I could not find it on MUTigers site and sports-reference site is wrong as they are missing a lot of games like the Peeler kU game when he scored 41. I was curious on some other stat leaders. Any help would be appreciated.
Re: Mizzou @ Arky
Acuff will be a difficult defensive assignment. Of course, one also has to remember that Alabama doesn't play much defense.

Willie Smith, another smooth lefty shooter, had 43 in the NCAA tournament.rezero wrote: ↑20 Feb 2026 08:47 am MizzouMarv just curious but where did you find the 46pt high game from as I could not find it on MUTigers site and sports-reference site is wrong as they are missing a lot of games like the Peeler kU game when he scored 41. Wiki: who scored the most points in a single game for the missouri tiger basketball team
From mutigers.com: Scott came to Mizzou from Gainesville, Missouri in the late 1950s where he was known as the “Gainesville Gunner” after averaging 30.8 points per game as a senior – the highest scoring average in Missouri prep history at the time. At MU he lettered from 1959-61 and scored 1,128 career points which was in the school’s top-five when he graduated. In March 1961, he set the school single-game scoring record with 46 points against the Nebraska Cornhuskers, a record that still stands today some 60 years later. He also served as team captain. He went on to be a successful lawyer in Poplar Bluff, Missouri where he was extremely active in community events, and especially being a strong advocate and supporter of youth sports. In 2016, the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame honored Scott with the “President’s Award” which is given to an individual who promotes sports in the state and greatly assists the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.

Peeler is listed twice with different totals in the same game. Mizzou never played at Texas AM in late February before the Big 12.
And Gary Leonard with 42? Come on
Re: Mizzou @ Arky
List definitely seems AI generated. Instead of AI models having 6 fingers on a hand, the list has the same scorer twice in the same game
