While I’d hesitate to call St. Louis a ‘blue collar’ town, I agree wholeheartedly that St. Louis is a ‘get your hands dirty’ kind of town and that blue collar and white collar and no collar residents have a ‘roll your sleeves up and get engaged’ ethos that is undeniable. And THAT is why, despite immense talent, the fan base in the city will never get behind entitled, lazy, pouty players. Period.
It's hilarious to me when something like this is brought up and many start rolling their eyes and basically inferring that the people who identify as blue collar are stupid or that people who enjoy watching inspired hockey from smart players don't like or want any talented scorers.
It's worth noting his comments about the Blues Alumni being so great to current players. All of them were preaching hard work at that ceremony earlier this season. Oshie too. Perhaps, as some insinuate, none of them won a Cup with the Blues, so we should neither heed their word nor honor their commitment?
