Springfield Prospects

Post by zamadoo »

Questions for those who have watched the games.

We've seen Dvorsky go from AHL All Prospects Team, All Star, and Accuracy Shooting title to NHL to records at the Olympics over the past year.

We've seen Stenberg perform well, and Kaskimaki seem ok at the NHL level.

Do any of these players stand out above Stancl, Pekarcik, and Lindstein?

...and do any of the above players clearly stand out above others like Peterson, Skinner, etc?

My estimation is that they are ranked roughly in this order in terms of both ceiling and NHL readiness, but I haven't seen them playing in Springfield. I think Lindstein should be in the NHL. Stancl and Pekarcik are interesting prospects who are absolute gamers, but have they developed enough for a call up yet? Or anyone else, maybe older?

Lindstein will be with the Blues next year IMO. I think Stancl and Pekarcik will need at least until after Christmas to develop. Jirisek will need a season of AHL to get exposure, but could win a spot on the Blues if he has a great camp. Skinner and Burns will be up and down with the Blues. I also believe Carbonneau will make the Blues next year. Finally, expect the shuttle between Springfield and St. Louis to be active.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Lindstein get some time with the Blues after the trade deadline this year. We will need to move out a forward or 2 to give Carbonneau a spot out of camp but I assume that’ll also happen at the deadline this season. It would probably be best for Jiricek to start in the ahl next season but the team seems to be really high on him. I think he’s a dark horse to make the team out camp. Especially if we don’t do anything to replace Faulk after we move him. Starting with him and Mailloux on the right side would probably mean another brutal season next year though.

I am not sure who comes out of camp for the Blues its pretty early to say Summer can have a huge effect training wise for young guys my guess is

Of course Mailloux, Snuggerud, Dvorsky and Stenberg already here

Finley
Kaskimaki
Lindstein
Dean

have really good chances at making the roster, Lindstein may unseat Tucker

Jiricek
Carbonneau
Peterson
Stancl
Pekarcik

could get a look at some point in '26 Jiricek i feel like is very likely

Lots of guys are interesting. In order of my ranking. Stenberg Lindstein Kaskimaki Pekarcik and Stancil.
I followed the record and the statistics of the team. I know a very little bit. I feel that these guys are getting more playing time and they’re getting a chance to show their stuff. Most of them can keep playing in the AHL for a while and earn it. I’d like to see Stenberg back in the NHL.

Dark horse to think about is Arseni Koromyslov, who I believe is in the last year of his KHL contract. Big, mobile LD that has attended at least one prospect camp for the Blues if I recall correctly. 22 years old and has been playing against men. Sleeper for me if he signs with the Blues.

Otherwise, I don’t see many who are ready to make the leap to the NHL.

Here to stay: Dvo, Stenberg

50/50 shot of 20+ games: Skinner, Kaskimaki
Cup of coffee: Stancl, Peterson
AHL bound: Jiricek, Lindstein, Carbs
