Why is there never any info on who else is in the rumored deal? Frustrating

Re: Bruins and Blues close on Faulk?
Because it's made up.
Re: Bruins and Blues close on Faulk?
The link you shared said "James Murphy: According to an NHL source with knowledge of the situation, the Bruins and Blues have been engaged in NHL trade talks on right-shot Blues veteran defenseman Justin Faulk - RG (2/17)"
Just below it I saw these great posts:
"We’re taking about Slafkovsky when we should be looking at Dalibor Dvorsky as well

Dvorsky youngest Slovak ever to have a 4-game point streak at Olympics with NHL participation
Also his 6 points are the most by any Blues player who has ever been at Olympics (NHL)"
"
NEW RECORD(S)
Dalibor Dvorsky's six points (3g, 3a) is the most ever by an
@NHL
rookie in a single Olympic tournament.
It is also the most by any St. Louis Blues player in a single Olympic tournament."
And here, Bortz in an interview talking up STL - LAY IT ON THE LINE is right!

I know I’m steering us off course here, but Bortz is 100% accurate.
While I’d hesitate to call St. Louis a ‘blue collar’ town, I agree wholeheartedly that St. Louis is a ‘get your hands dirty’ kind of town and that blue collar and white collar and no collar residents have a ‘roll your sleeves up and get engaged’ ethos that is undeniable. And THAT is why, despite immense talent, the fan base in the city will never get behind entitled, lazy, pouty players. Period.

That’s also why we only have one Cup in 60 years.SweeneyAstray wrote: ↑19 Feb 2026 10:08 amzamadoo wrote: ↑19 Feb 2026 05:26 am

Yep, StL Sports fans identify most with scrappy Utility Players, Special Teams Heroes, Gadget Players, Swiss Army Knives, and Grinders.SweeneyAstray wrote: ↑19 Feb 2026 10:08 amzamadoo wrote: ↑19 Feb 2026 05:26 am

But thinking Kypreos, a terrible trade, Covid, a lack of goaltending, plus maybe Kadri might also have had something to do with it.

As an argument, "STL likes hard working athletes = less winning" is at best a speculative suggestion with no supporting evidence
on Faulk if they have to get a defenseman back in the deal who's serviceable for minutes now, I'd select Soderstrom

Soderstom is the same size- 6 feet even, but 19 pounds lighter (Hockey DB) than Faulk , and he also shoots Right.seattleblue wrote: ↑19 Feb 2026 11:33 am As an argument, "STL likes hard working athletes = less winning" is at best a speculative suggestion with no supporting evidence

He turns 25 in 8 days.
From his Draft Scouting report-
An uber competitive two-way defenceman who thinks the game at the highest level, A gifted skater, his ability to traverse all three zones is best described as smooth and effortless. He never looks disinterested, and it's always apparent just how badly he wants to win. His vision and awareness is great, allowing him to play a responsible yet dynamic brand of hockey. He's a dangerous puck-carrier with a great shot. Defensively, he makes good decisions quickly and consistently, never looking out of place when pitted up against the other team's top players. He pressures the opposition and limits options, never getting in the way of his goalie. (Curtis Joe, EP 2019)
Could Soderstrom be a good second or third-pairing for us?
It might be scary moving Mailloux up to second-pairing

Re: Bruins and Blues close on Faulk?
I doubt the Blues see Mailloux as a top 4 guy next year unless there is a large jump in development. Keep him in a lesser role until he is proving it. Victor Soderstrom is another inexperienced bottom pairing guy, correct? I dont think he would be a Top 4 either but i may not be thinking of the right guyHarry York 37 wrote: ↑19 Feb 2026 12:13 pmSoderstom is the same size- 6 feet even, but 19 pounds lighter (Hockey DB) than Faulk , and he also shoots Right.seattleblue wrote: ↑19 Feb 2026 11:33 am As an argument, "STL likes hard working athletes = less winning" is at best a speculative suggestion with no supporting evidence

Re: Bruins and Blues close on Faulk?
You won’t get both but Letourneau would definitely be the ask….doubt you can get him though. You might be able to get Poitras and a 2nd rounder.

So did they ever get around to erecting that Vladimir sobotka statue or did that project get scrapped altogether?
Who had it as their profile Pic? Was it Pierre?

Lots of athletes; Blues, Cards etc. marry girls from St. Louis. Gretzky, Mark McGwire, and many more. They stay here and remain here. Few want the hassles of a huge city.SweeneyAstray wrote: ↑19 Feb 2026 10:08 amzamadoo wrote: ↑19 Feb 2026 05:26 am

It's hilarious to me when something like this is brought up and many start rolling their eyes and basically inferring that the people who identify as blue collar are stupid or that people who enjoy watching inspired hockey from smart players don't like or want any talented scorers.SweeneyAstray wrote: ↑19 Feb 2026 10:08 amzamadoo wrote: ↑19 Feb 2026 05:26 am

It's worth noting his comments about the Blues Alumni being so great to current players. All of them were preaching hard work at that ceremony earlier this season. Oshie too. Perhaps, as some insinuate, none of them won a Cup with the Blues, so we should neither heed their word nor honor their commitment?
