Buch also makes $8M and Kyrou has outplayed him every year they have been together. Buch is a minute 15 this year and Kyrou is minus 7. Kyrou even had more hits than Buch last year.ManitobaBlues wrote: ↑17 Feb 2026 17:02 pm If you look at game-winning goals, then yeah… that stat sheet is not exactly a glowing campaign ad for keeping Jordan Kyrou.

Buch works harder and shows up far more regularly when the going gets.. tough.
That’s why he has more playoff points than Kyrou, in less games played.

The bolded part tells me you don't watch forward play with a critical eye. If you did, your question should have considered the 40 games he dragged his line, all his teammates on the ice and on the bench, and every fan who follows forward play with a critical eye... down into the gutter. Kyrou had a LOT to do with our miserable start. And, he had months to recover from that clean and solid hit he took early in the playoffs.
It takes a similar stubborn mind to play invisibly enough to garner only two assists over 28 playoff games, and to get a Cup-winning Coach fired, and to get his successor- a rookie Coach hired ONLY to raise the "kids" up with a gentle velvet glove fired- AND be benched by a Jack Adams winner... in two years time.
He is a puke.
Do you, simply, not care to see players compete?
First, Berube was fired for the teams overall play and results. You make it sound like he walked Berube out the door.
Plus, Kyrou has 11 goals in 28 playoff games and lead the Blues twice in goals during the playoffs. He lead the team last year in +/-. He had more hits than Buch last year.
There are a lot of players on this team who are underperforming and I would much rather have a natural scorer.
You have the memory of a two day old Goldfish.
Kyrou refused to play like Berube wanted. He was a mess and cost us games in the weeks before Berube called him out.
Please “Daddy”, why did thousands and thousands of fans boo Kyrou to tears the game after Berube was canned?
Did those thousands of fans boo anyone else that night?
Think real hard.
You wear rose colored glasses about a foot thick.

Also worth noting that Buch plays in all situations - averages 2pts per year on the PK. They have the same amount of points this season, and Buch has moved back to center, where he looked great for a couple games (imagine Kyrou at center?). Even strength stats - Buch avg 44/82, Kyrou 47/82. Both average 17 pts per 82 games on the PP. Playoff stats is really where the tale is told, however. Buch looking much better in that regard.Harry York 37 wrote: ↑18 Feb 2026 00:24 amThat is all true.rezero wrote: ↑17 Feb 2026 18:54 pmBuch also makes $8M and Kyrou has outplayed him every year they have been together. What exactly do you guys think getting credit for a game winning goal in the NHL means? Clutch performance?zamadoo wrote: ↑18 Feb 2026 05:29 amAlso worth noting that Buch plays in all situations - averages 2pts per year on the PK. What is the point of talking up this stat - MB?
The NHL awards the game winning goal to the goal that happens to be the one that appears to be the difference maker based on the final score but in reality is often times just another goal.
example: your team gets off to a 3-0 lead and you score the 4th goal to go up 4-0... the other team finally gets some late momentum and score 3... you win 7-3 and get the GWG for that 4th goal early in the second period... clutch?

Kyrou does an interview with negativity pointed directly at Berube.
You don't think that was the major cause for receiving all those boos?
Harry, you seriously need to get a clue. Kyrou is a coach killer. Plain and simple. Every coach has had an issue with keeping the guy motivated. Fans see it. And when that clown blames it on his coach...you don't think the booing was for that?

Kyrou was definitely booed that evening for what he said about Berube. The fact that Kyrou is a coach killer...made it worse for those that believe the same thing (that he's impossible to keep motivated)

Nothing makes a coach pull out his hair more than routine lack of effort and careless errors.
I can tell you that am not a fan of those types of players, either.

This. Harry doesn’t let facts get in the way of a good story. The month leading up to Berube firing Kyrou was the leading scorer on the blues by 4pts, yet Harry thinks he was the problem. Sure he made a comment after Berube was fired that most people on this forum could not even quote what was said. He basically said, Berube is gone and time to move on.netboy65 wrote: ↑18 Feb 2026 00:47 amYour memory isn’t so great either.
My memory is far sharper than yours.
Stats are one thing, What made Berube lose his mind were the specificities of game play that make Kyrou a poison in critical junctures,
You have no recollection, apparently. Let me fill you in.
In the days leading up to the incident where an exhausted Berube called Kyrou out on the ice, Kyrou had LOST two games for us ....with careless and cowardly play in the waning moments of close games, while "playing" the point.
Let me fill you in on what numbers on a page can not reveal.
The sad thing is, you HAVE to use Kyrou on the point, even in a man advantage, don't you? Otherwise, his gerbil testes disappear entirely- even in a man-advantage situation, Kyrou FEARS the boards and the corners- don't even think of arguing otherwise. How often has number 25 dug a puck out of the corner with a game on the line, much less dug it out of the corner and fed someone in a scoring position?
I think the first game he lost, by himself, was an empty net for us with little time left. At 6 on 5, Kyrou failed to keep a puck in at the blueline- he made a cute stab at it, but the opponent sailed cleanly by, scored into our empty net, and we lost by two.
The second was a goddanged tie game where we had a power play. Same story. Men near his size were skating toward him... and the puck went cleanly past him for a breakaway, and we lost the game with a minute left because of that play. Berube lost his fricken mind, and I do not blame him.
Chief called Kyrou out on the ice after that game. I am sure he verbally drilled that gerbil savant a new A hole.
A well-deserved new A-hole.
Kyrou publicly blew the Chief off. It was UGLY
How can you not remember that?
Armstrong, realizing that Kyrou would NOT play the way Berube wanted him to, and that he had just signed the gerbil savant to an 8 year contract... fired the Chief....
When they asked Kyrou what he had to say, Kyrou spoke as he felt- he was glad Chief was gone. He would never have to worry about being called out for his [nonsense] again.
He was never misquoted. When the thousands and thousands and thousands of Blues fans booed him. mercilessly... Kyrou lied.
And Kyrou cried.
And many gave him a pass.
And... everyone who gave him that pass, was a sap.

The month leading up to Berube firing Kyrou was the leading scorer on the blues by 4pts, yet Harry thinks he was the problem. Sure he made a comment after Berube was fired that most people on this forum could not even quote what was said.
