I wouldnt call it "meaningless" and I dont feel the least bit sorry for billionaire owners. But I do agree that players should bear the risk, not fans.
I'd call it extremely meaningless with the Russians not allowed to play.
Russia can fix the ban anytime it wants.
That doesn't change the fact that Russia currently isn't playing.
And the blame for that lies in Russia.
