IF he clears waivers, the Cards can outright him to AAA and keep him.redbirdfan51 wrote: ↑08 Feb 2026 21:49 pm Acquiring Ramos seems like a good gamble, but if he gets sent down he will need to go through waivers and the Cards could lose him . Please correct me if I'm wrong. Can he play multiple positions including the OF?

I think he'd be similar to if Walker was left unprotected. Somebody is going to be smart enough to give him a shot. I think Ramos is worth giving a shot.redbirdfan51 wrote: ↑08 Feb 2026 21:49 pm Acquiring Ramos seems like a good gamble, but if he gets sent down he will need to go through waivers and the Cards could lose him . No red jacket for Ramos.
And no loss for the Cardinals.

I was, at least, intrigued to see how he would do in spring training. Maybe it will still work out.

It appears that the Cardinals hope that he will clear waivers so they can assign him to Memphis.

Short of tearing up camp and making the team, that is probably the best outcome.BrockFloodMaris wrote: ↑16 Feb 2026 16:16 pm It appears that the Cardinals hope that he will clear waivers so they can assign him to Memphis.

Re: Bryan Ramos
I think, for this team its a bit of a loss. A very good defensive 3b, right hand hitter, who is low cost, low risk, who is worth a shot to see if his early struggles were injury related.
No, losing him isn't going to change this team, but I hate giving up on a guy who could process, and doesn't cost the team anything.
