I think 36 Cardinal players have worn that number. Many pitchers.

Kyle Lohse is the first one that comes to mind when I see #26. I always thought it was a head scratcher not resigning him after 2012. We certainly could’ve used another arm and those innings he threw for Milwaukee in ‘13 and ‘14.

If my research is correct- bud Norris, Anthony Reyes, Bill White, Speizio, Tony Peña. I think these are correct.

Yeah, that's where players come from, guy. Most guys play there first. Wetherholt isn't a "hope" or a "wish". The kid can flat out play ball. His intangibles are what set his excellent skills apart from others. Some stuff cannot be taught. He has that.

I understand your trepidation, but JJW isnt even a comparison. JJW is a refined, polished college hitter who has dominated the minors.

The other three were HS picks who were poorly developed in our system and called up before they were ready (both physically AND mentally).
