Canada & Binner vs France Sun Feb 15

Post by Russdv14 »

Because of a long curling contest won by USA women over , China,
The TV finally got to the game, but it already started and missed the USA goal by Tom Wilson and then we see Bennington at the end of a score against him to make it one to one a few seconds later after Wilson had scored. And then seconds later again, D Towes scored to make it two to one so there were three goals in a minute or so. Have not seen the replay on the goal against Binnington yet. Did see Parayko shoot wide from the point so it’s 2 to 1.

On the replay: Binnington made a left pad save and puck came out to Binner’s right and past Parayko, watching a French player, shoot it in on the open side

Texier serves up a shorty to Stone to make it 3-1 at the horn. Ouch.

Power play for France with about a minute to go.
Texier out there.
Canada has such talented skaters.
Mark Stone backhands in a short handed goal with 4 sec to go in the prd , steal from former Blue, Texier .
3-1 Canada after 1 period.

One thing very impressive about Olympic hockey in this game for sure is that there’s hardly any face offs other than after a goal. I think you said Canada outshot France 17 to 6.

Re; France goal; As typical for the season, Binner saved one with his left pad (a good shot) and Parayko & another player back watch the rebound go to an opposition player who had an easy shot into the open side at Binnington couldn’t get over to

Textbook Blues Binner right there with the juicy slot rebound off a weak shot. He tried much harder to stop the rebound shot with Canada thou

France is playing much better defense in the second period
Or Canada letting down , but between periods it was said how important gold inferential is so Canada should be trying to pile it on

That play by Texier was about as brutal as anything I have seen in a long time!

There is a box score for each game. It is on ESPN (app).
Go to scores then scroll down to the game score and then tab over from “game cast” to “ box score”

Blues could take a tip from that power play. Makar did what Faulk has done more successfully this season

Canada has been playing more aggressive after the slow start in the second period.

4-1 Canadians

Canada has gone crazy dominating in the last 14 minutes in the period. It’s amazing. We haven’t seen more Canadian scores. Cellebrini scoring that beautiful penalty shot.. and then in a gold that looked like the Blues were playing.. that was certainly a crazy deflection off the France player!!

Discontinues to be like an All-Star game

New goaltender for France, but McDavid speeds along and pushes in the puck along the ice for a 7-1 lead

If I’m not mistaken. It appeared that Parayko was benched for the entire third period by Jon Cooper. We’ll need to check the time on ice if that stat is on ESPN too. With this being a relatively easy game, you think that Cooper would’ve shortened the bench and 55 playing more. Doughty was on the right side when France scored their second goal so it wasn’t Parayko on both

Texier -5 Parayko -1. So may have not played the third period at all, as I think they have extra skaters.
Thomas Harley (Stars) -2 today
I don’t think that was Kenny Albert play-by-play but Olyck was the sidekick and I think this is one of the regular NHL announcers that we usually hear
