The problem is not Tanking. It's senseless winning.
The problem is not Tanking. It's senseless winning. Players don't tank for team goals. Teams can't be instructed to tank. However, teams can bring in old veterans for the sake of "staying competitive".
Remember last year when Army told us that the re-whatever was over, and yet we had one of the oldest teams in the NHL on the ice? Didn't that strike you as odd place to be given the journey that was just completed?
But there is some very good news, Sports Fans!
Thankfully, Bjugstad is out, and Finley is in. Thankfully, Mailloux is in, and Suter is out. Thankfully, the 1000-game ceremonies have abated. It appears that the senseless winning approach has been abandoned, and the team is now rebuilding LIKE EVERY OTHER NHL TEAM does.
Unfortunately, I'm not yet convinced that Army is going to embrace a TOP5 pick. It looks bad on him. The trades that he makes after the Olympics will tell us the future course more fully. Will he move toward building a Cup team, or will he continue to cuddle the mushy middle?
For advance notification, the answer to this question will tell us.
Is Army scouting the top 5 players in the draft heavily, or is he scouting as though he will be selecting in the middle of the Round 1 again?

You get out of bed every morning and absolutely make sure this is the first thing you do every day. That is bat [shirt] insane, dude. You have REAL mental health issues. Do you realize this?

its not senseless for the shillman group who must profit the turnstile at all costs .. its really not about winning a cup, just winning enough to keep the money flowing ..
the problem is armstrong cant put together a roster within this situation..he bet on all the wrong horses it looks like to me ..we are missing 1-2 pieces or more that can really only be had from a top draft pick

I 100% agree with this.Bottlecapsound wrote: ↑13 Feb 2026 10:54 am its not senseless for the shillman group who must profit the turnstile at all costs .. its really not about winning a cup, just winning enough to keep the money flowing ..

I'd also say that with the rising cap over the next few years, it's going to be even more difficult for Armstrong. Armstrong has relied heavily on picking up veterans jettisoned across the NHL that couldn't be fit under the cap. That well has gone dry, at least for the next 3 years.

Why do you know so much about him? Are you stalking people?

Winning is never senseless. Anyone doesn't know that has lost (or has never grasped) the meaning and purpose of sport.

What never fails to amaze me is the combination of hubris and stupidity which results in thinking no one will notice or understand.BluesDom wrote: ↑13 Feb 2026 12:51 pm You just made a profile for Bottlecapsound to comment on your own post?

Ok. I'll ask Colorado fans to give back Cale Makar in substitutiion for 10 more wins 5 years ago.BrummerStealsHome wrote: ↑14 Feb 2026 11:03 am Winning is never senseless. Anyone doesn't know that has lost (or has never grasped) the meaning and purpose of sport.

Their problem is simple: 1) You've recently registered; 2) A newly registered user does not have viewable profile right away...Bottlecapsound wrote: ↑14 Feb 2026 15:41 pmBluesDom wrote: ↑13 Feb 2026 12:51 pm You just made a profile for Bottlecapsound to comment on your own post?

This confuses some of them.
You committed the cardinal sins of hopping on a topic of a user they don't like... and you agreed with them. Oh the humanity.
Between that and their (probably misplaced) conviction that you and "a smell of green grass" are the same person.
They're suffering from a case of Sock Puppet Paranoia... It happens.
A little hint... Chill out, it's an internet forum. How about not sending snark-o grams via the email feature? Keep it to the forums and private messaging.
I can tell them: From what I can see you and grass aren't the same person, but they never listen to me, so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
