What are thoughts on Cards wins in 2026?
I’m aware that there are a couple of posts already on this subject.
I guess I am an optimist. My prediction is based on a few performance outcomes.
Hitting: I think the keys are performance by these three players.
Gorman, Walker and Scott improvements need to be significant.
Pitching - Starters: I think the keys are how quickly we can sort out the candidates.
Candidates in order of my expectations: (* Not on 40-man)
McGreevy, Liberatore, Leahy, Dobbins, *Mathews, Pallante, Fitts, *Henderson, ….
Did I miss someone?
Depending on how well this develops, I would guess wins in the range of 76 to 92 wins.

Re: What are thoughts on Cards wins in 2026?
is 92 wins realistic?
Given that every major model clusters the team between 70 and 77 wins, a 92‑win season would require a massive overperformance — the kind of leap that typically comes from multiple breakout players, a top‑tier rotation, and unusually good health. None of the projections suggest that’s the baseline expectation.

Heres my pick- what ever the odds makers say. I think it’s like 70 wins.
Re: What are thoughts on Cards wins in 2026?
Yeah, I’ll agree with 70 wins, given the current makeup. If Donovan was still with the team, I’d go 4 or 6 games higher. His leadership - on the field or on the bench - is the type that’s hard to replace.

That type of leadership is needed. It should not be hard to replace, as it should be embedded in the core principles. That starts early in n the farm. So early the Rooster ain’t up.

89 wins
Wild card
Surprise, World Series
No one’s more optimistic than me. Life is more enjoyable being an optimist. IMHO.
I’m going to put $100 on the cards in Vegas to win the World Series. Could make a nice return in Vegas. I’ve never played the lotto but a once a year bet on your team proves that you believe!! Right?

Right? You question yourself. I’d do it like roulette- black or red. Put my money on over/under. Very simple.TheFantasyStud wrote: ↑14 Feb 2026 10:31 am 89 wins

Although I’m a Craps player.

I was hoping to see some comments on how likely the hitting improvements might happen.
Also how starting pitching might actually evolve.

I have the Cardinals maxing out at 70 wins, not a game more.
This team will struggle to score runs and the pitching won’t be good enough to keep runs down to cover for this anemic offense.
Welcome to a rebuild…..they’re never pretty.

75 to 87 wins
Re: What are thoughts on Cards wins in 2026?
Can a player not sign with the drafting team and re-enter the following year’s draft?
