Fiala out for nhl season
Ouch! Swiss played a competitive game. Tough to see it end like that. Didn't look malicious, but of course it was Tom Wilson
Without Fiala out, how do the Kings pivot, Do they go harder at the deadline?

I would be all for the owners putting language in the next CBA that if guys want to do this meaningless [shirt], if they get hurt, they have to pay back the team a portion of the salary that they were supposed to earn if they were playing. And the team medical insurance doesn’t have to cover it.

I wouldnt call it "meaningless" and I dont feel the least bit sorry for billionaire owners. But I do agree that players should bear the risk, not fans.Rollin' on the River wrote: ↑14 Feb 2026 09:49 am I would be all for the owners putting language in the next CBA that if guys want to do this meaningless [shirt], if they get hurt, they have to pay back the team a portion of the salary that they were supposed to earn if they were playing. You think that language would make it into the Collective BARGAINING Agreement?Rollin' on the River wrote: ↑14 Feb 2026 09:49 am I would be all for the owners putting language in the next CBA that if guys want to do this meaningless [shirt], if they get hurt, they have to pay back the team a portion of the salary that they were supposed to earn if they were playing. I'd call it extremely meaningless with the Russians not allowed to play.Army's Mom wrote: ↑14 Feb 2026 10:19 amI wouldnt call it "meaningless" and I dont feel the least bit sorry for billionaire owners. Especially since it was the players who pushed for this.DoneLurking wrote: ↑14 Feb 2026 10:36 amYou think that language would make it into the Collective BARGAINING Agreement?Rollin' on the River wrote: ↑14 Feb 2026 09:49 am I would be all for the owners putting language in the next CBA that if guys want to do this meaningless [shirt], if they get hurt, they have to pay back the team a portion of the salary that they were supposed to earn if they were playing. Haha listen to the public and the players. Then to call this meaningless. For all European and other time zones giving fans a chance to wacht stars instead of middle of the night.
It’s about growing the sport and that is what’s being done if you watch the games, see the stands and hear the fans singing. Players learn more about playing high stakes here than playing for #8 playoff seed from October to February… Stop feeling sorry for billionaire owners.
And yeah Russians included would have made the tournament even more interesting, but they could decide to stop arming every drone with a bomb and terrorize people 150 km from the front line that need to buy a bread for their family…

Re: Fiala out for nhl season
This is a league problem.
I don't see ski slopes shutting down for tournaments because the Olympics. Why the NHL.
It shouldn't be hard. If this wasn't a Canadian sport this wouldn't be a thing. Players should be able to go play for their home countries, but the nhl should continue to play games.
No reason Not too. If you say,
'To grow the game, I'll say No gold medal has grow the game like the 80 gold. And no gold will.
Second place in growing the game would go to a couple of movies.

The NHLPLA has to agree to it, and they wouldn't.Rollin' on the River wrote: ↑14 Feb 2026 09:49 am I would be all for the owners putting language in the next CBA that if guys want to do this meaningless [shirt], if they get hurt, they have to pay back the team a portion of the salary that they were supposed to earn if they were playing. Why do you need to grow the game? I'm so tired of hearing that stuff. It absolutely does not need to grow and get more watered down.DutchBlue wrote: ↑15 Feb 2026 03:04 am Haha listen to the public and the players. Then to call this meaningless. Re: Fiala out for nhl season
unanimous pick by his team mates as 1st person to get a misconduct or 5 or more minute penalty, marchand was 2nd.
Re: Fiala out for nhl season
Wilson just got 17 min in penalties vs France, sticking up for a hit on Nathen MacKinnon. Looked like he might try for a game suspension too.

I’m not talking 42 NHL teams or whatever Im saying if more kids from Europe Asia or whatever decide they find it a cool sport then the end product would be better… kids picking hockey in Germany over football etc etc you get it I hope.
