A revealing comment by the announcers last night - that SLU contacted all of the Power 5 teams requesting that they play the Billikens, but none of them agreed to a game. Because they were afraid that they would lose, and it would hurt their seedings. If true, this is the problem with the haves and have-nots.

It's hard to believe it's true. You gain standing by just playing Quad 1 games.

I hope if they win out they are looking at a 5 or 6 seed. If they get to the conference tourney title game and lose that pushes them to a 7. If they lose twice before selection Sunday they get dinged to an 8/9 game. Need to avoid the 8/9 for obvious reasons. The metrics are off the hook. Hope the committee shows respect. I have doubts.

I suppose if the teams in the 8-20 range nationally start losing left and right but I tend to doubt it. The committee will be far too busy figuring out how to seed the 11th team in the SEC and the 15th team in the big ten to give actual earned respect. No faith in the bazookas who do this stuff year in and year out.

You are right.

All we need to look at is the College Football Playoff.

It would be great to see them placed here in town for the first round. I'm thinking winning out might help with that as well.

Talk about a hot ticket!

It was one of the announcers who said it.

Not sure which one.

I would have liked to have seen how they would do against a Power 5 team.
