College professional football, 2026

Post by jcgmoi »

Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss has been granted a temporary injunction against the NCAA that will allow him to keep playing college football. If you're counting, next season will be his sixth. He claimed tonsillitis and fatigue sidelined him in 2022 and the court agreed.

A county judge made the ruling. What else is he supposed to do, tell the locals he won't let their stud QB see the field? Not to pick on Chambliss and the Mississippi legal system. The same result could happen anywhere now that the only eligibility rules are routinely challenged in court.

The NCAA had to know things weren't going their way when Chamblliss spent a courtroom break signing autographs.

I still love going to Mizzou games, but college sports are getting close to being ridiculous. It's like every school has semi-pro teams with pay for play mercenaries. Amateur sports? LOL!

the family jewel less ncaa isn't about to take on anyone from a power conference that could threaten their current intake of $$$ --- until they are given power or another version of the ncaa takes over with power to make decisions with no repercussions there will be much 'looking the other way' in college athletics.

I predict that it won't be long before 'college' athletes will be able to play as many years as they want to, whether they are students or not. Might even be able to come back and play after their professional careers are over. $$$ rules...stay tuned.
