What a great deal for Arizona. He is so much better than his 2025 ERA. He’ll turn in a great season for them on this team friendly deal. And they have Burnes returning to their rotation mid season. They are building a nice roster in Arizona.

This was probably always going to be the outcome. The QO was going to cost someone (except Arizona) a high draft pick plus his salary. This way Arizona gets what they were going to pay for him anyway on a 1 year deal and Gallen is free from future QO penalties. U

Where was SloMo? Sorting his Easter scarves? Mo asleep at the wheel again? Did DeWallet tell him "NO"?ramfandan wrote: ↑13 Feb 2026 20:54 pm https://www.mlb.com/news/zac-gallen-dia ... s-contract

Would have looked nice in Cardinal red. But no, let's go with Pallante and a bunch of minor league pitchers.
How in the world could the Cards afford him?

In addition to a payroll cap MLB needs to end deferred contracts. You want him now you pay him now.ramfandan wrote: ↑13 Feb 2026 20:54 pm https://www.mlb.com/news/zac-gallen-dia ... s-contract
