Broberg looked good from what little I saw. Ripped one off the crossbar.
OLE dressed and didn’t have a single shift all game! Crazy stuff.
Forsberg had 1 shift at 1:07 lol

Getting geared up for that patented late-season Blues' run.
I’m not suggesting that we should be bad to get a high draft pick. I’m saying we ARE bad so let’s get that pick to try and change that.
You want a high pick but you won't cheer them to lose you want them to lose on their own because they are bad.
They're going to come out and play to win imo. And what you get is what they are.
Hope it all works out for you...not cheering for them to lose but hoping they are bad and will lose.

I’m just being realistic here. This season is toast regardless of how many games we win down the stretch. I’d rather endure a little short term pain and add a piece that helps us next year and in the future.dhsux wrote: ↑11 Feb 2026 18:12 pmWell why wish anything? The Average Gatsby wrote: ↑11 Feb 2026 13:11 pmThis team is 2nd to last in the NHL. Re: Dvorský scores Olympic goal
There are games left to play. Teams and players are professionals, they are expected to play to win. The management is expected to make moves in consideration of the big picture, to help maximize the value of the team. They may act with a long term perspective. The players are expected to play to win.The Average Gatsby wrote: ↑11 Feb 2026 19:23 pmI’m just being realistic here. This season is toast regardless of how many games we win down the stretch. Re: Dvorský scores Olympic goal
Just watched the 3rd period again of SLO/FIN it's exciting to see Dvorsky play so well winning faceoffs getting to the net going 1v1 on Aho. That shot he got off was a ripper top shelf. Kids gonna be a good one
Re: Dvorský scores Olympic goal
I'm not surprised to hear this report at all. I didn't get to see this game, but his play on the world stage has been exactly as is described here (and Harry's). Everywhere around the net (both ends), always in the play or driving play, seems to do or attempt the right thing, incredible shot, leadership...Bluesfan1978 wrote: ↑11 Feb 2026 15:13 pm Steven Ellis said Dvorsky is going to be a number one C for the Slovaks for a long time. This could end up being a huge confidence boost for Dalibor along with having another strong offseason and he could be a legit number 2 C next year.
20 years old at the Olympics, I thought I read that was the youngest ever for the Slovaks? Youngest for something. Anyways, I agree this could be a significant confidence booster, along with whatever wisdom he may gain.
Funny that Thomas wasn't even thought of for Team Canada, but he's our #1. Ha, I went to look up Robby Tommy's jr stats, and google gave me a bunch of recent articles about Dvorsky emergence making Thomas available and which teams he could go to
Btw, Idk how many of you paid attention or remember, but Thomas' final jr season was legendary. Traded to Hamilton and then just playing unreal hockey leading them to the championship. Dalibor didn't quite have that success with Sudbury, but he was awarded top prospects team as 19 year old rookie AHL all-star last season with Springfield, and with a longer runway he is projecting nicely.

This team needs a high end talent infusion.
They need to continue losing so they get that.

That is far from anything determined.
They'll come out and play and we shall see.
If they dump some key guys and/or play a roster for experience for the younger players they might lose but it won't be because of any "understanding" or "getting it".

Re: Dvorský scores Olympic goal
Dvorsky--1 goal 2 assist so far.
Future Projections?
Exciting Prospect/NHL player.
--better than Lubo Bartecko?
Better than Michal Handzus?
How about Demitra?-that would be real nice if he had a nice career like PD.
Gaborik? Hossa?

Re: Dvorský scores Olympic goal
DD is a LONG way from pushing RT off the team, IF he could ever do that. They are different types of players, different strengths and weaknesses. He could be a very good player in his own right but he's currently no where near being a 1C because he does not carry play in the offensive zone, he's a finisher. As a 2C, ok, I see the potential. He hasn't shown the physicality to be a Bennett, though, but he might become a better goal scorer.
The good news is he plays pretty well defensively and in transition. Needs to get meaner, but all the young guys not named Neighbours need more bite in their game.

Re: Dvorský scores Olympic goal
Joe Sakic was slow to get going but then turned into wildfire.
Re: Dvorský scores Olympic goal
Sakic's numbers are insane
Regular season 1641 points in 1378 games and 188 pts in 172 playoff games.
6 seasons with 100 plus points
2 Stanley Cups
Same team whole career.
625 regular goals plus 84 playoff goals
2 50 plus goal seasons
Peter Forsberg was my favorite player for a long time.
Awesome all around player. SO tough!!

Re: Dvorský scores Olympic goal
To compete for a Cup outside of the fluke run hope scenario which is very rare, your cornerstones better be two high end centers, a true #1 defenseman and a playoff nails goalie. Then give me quality & depth everywhere else.
Said it many many times but Dvorsky is one of these needed pieces, he is one of the cornerstones we need at center. We have not seen in a Blues uniform yet what it's fully going to be, but it will emerge. There is too much depth to his ability and intention for it not to happen if he stays healthy.
