Spring Training attendance
Last year the Cardinals spring training attendance was down 3% from 2024 and ranked 24th in all of baseball with a 5,164 average per game. MLB average was 7,149 per game.
It will be interesting to see if it drops again this spring.

there's a chance it goes up
Re: Spring Training attendance
how expensive are spring games? i would think there would be excitement to see the young players fighting for time and trying to improve -- i am more inclined to go see a game or two this year at the stadium to see some young players who hopefully still play with excitement and love for the game. I hope attendance goes up this spring, i know pricing for rentals in florida is lower this year than it has been in years...if anyone is inclined to make the trip this might be the year.

Major league prices and Major league prices for concessions.greyhawk wrote: ↑12 Feb 2026 16:25 pm how expensive are spring games? i would think there would be excitement to see the young players fighting for time and trying to improve -- i am more inclined to go see a game or two this year at the stadium to see some young players who hopefully still play with excitement and love for the game. It’s being able to walk around the camp and see the various players and the drills up close..
Now that’s West Palm….I’m guessing most camps are the same?

I've been there. It is a total rip off.45s wrote: ↑12 Feb 2026 18:03 pmYes….but the hook for me is not the game…greyhawk wrote: ↑12 Feb 2026 17:58 pmwow for spring training games? there are too many other things to do in southern florida than to pay those prices.OldRed wrote: ↑12 Feb 2026 17:54 pmMajor league prices and Major league prices for concessions.greyhawk wrote: ↑12 Feb 2026 16:25 pm how expensive are spring games? i would think there would be excitement to see the young players fighting for time and trying to improve -- i am more inclined to go see a game or two this year at the stadium to see some young players who hopefully still play with excitement and love for the game. First, how long ago were you there ? Secondly could you please cite specifics on the total rip off . Asking as always thought it may be fun to go experience spring training there . Anyone else have a different perspective on Jupiter spring training ?OldRed wrote: ↑12 Feb 2026 18:09 pmI've been there. Re: Spring Training attendance
for a two decade stretch of time, my parents wintered less than an hour from jupiter. most years i would fly down for a week to escape missouri winters and play golf and attend 2-3 st games. i made the mistake of buying tickets to see the name teams traveling to roger dean, but red sox and yankees werent putting veterans on a long bus ride, so paid nearly $50/ticket to see unknowns. best value was going to see cards play mets up the highway in st lucie or head south to west palm after astros/national arrived, as the short bus rides let cards travel with many stars/regulars. plus tickets at those stadiums were about half what cards charged.

Re: Spring Training attendance
Last i knew, a couple years back, 25 bucks typically for the cheap seats. 50 and upward for the better seats. ST isn't like it was 40 years ago where it was common to socialize and mingle with the players.
Re: Spring Training attendance
Is a ticket to the game required to go to the various fields and facilities in Jupiter?
Re: Spring Training attendance
The backfields are free.
My family and I have been to 24 Spring Trainings in St. Pete and then Jupiter and we love it.
The intersquad games on those backfields - primarily with the young guys - are the most fun part of the experience.
My favorite (of course) was watching Pujols dominate (and Bonilla get hurt) in his first spring training. We watched him play shortstop in part of one game.
Re: Spring Training attendance
If you know what do you pay for a decent hotel room in the area and how bad is traffic? Kind of on my bucket list. I would go for the experience and not the quality of the rosters for any given game.ClassicO wrote: ↑13 Feb 2026 07:17 amThe backfields are free.

Re: Spring Training attendance
Tickets are over $50 a piece for grand stand seats. I am going for the first time this year and that’s what we paid. For just my wife and I to attend games it came to over $400. My family and I are staying ten or so days, so we were looking for other things to do with the Grand Kids while there. Lion Country Safari is pretty close, so I checked it out. Tickets for there are also over $50 a person, even kids! Big rip off! There is going to be eleven us going, so it was going to cost over $600 + tax to go there! We decided to pass on that.
I’m still looking forward to going, but it’s not going to be a cheap trip by any means.
