On MLB Tonight show on now saw a 5 second quickie video by Derrick Goold showing Victor squaring to bunt holding the bat with left hand only sliding up the barrrel with no right hand on the bat at all.
Could be a drill or maybe his new technique for 2026.
Anyone else with more info on this ?
I did read he was focusing l this winter in bunt improvement.

It’s a drill, against a low-velocity pitching machine. In a live game, that would be a great way to break a finger (or several fingers).
Re: VSII bunting one-handed !
It is a drill where the focus is to catch the ball with that hand. Naturally, the hitter can't since the bat is in the way. When the other hand is put on the bat, direction is then added to catching the ball with the bat. It is a very old drill.ramfandan wrote: ↑12 Feb 2026 17:16 pm On MLB Tonight show on now saw a 5 second quickie video by Derrick Goold showing Victor squaring to bunt holding the bat with left hand only sliding up the barrrel with no right hand on the bat at all.
