Maybe Yasiel Puig is available. Check it out Shady.

Can't hit, can't field, can't run the bases. Had trouble being a team player.
Hard pass. Provide AB's to those that may contribute not just now but potentially in the future.
This is a Rebuild not a cheap add to a potentially competitive roster.

He really doesn't play OF much anymore (well anyways), so you are looking at a pretty expensive DH. As others have said, Philly can't even give him away right now, when EVERYONE knows they are trying to.

Change the narrative to a McCutchen type player, and you up the ante.Shady wrote: ↑12 Feb 2026 09:33 am https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/ni ... 897b&ei=15 Maybe the Phillies would send some cash with Castellanos in exchange for a mid level prospect. "Provide AB's to those that may contribute not just now but potentially in the future". Along those lines, I would actually prefer a platoon of Church and Saggese in LF to Castellanos.

No thanks. Castellanos has proven to be a pariah. Pass on that.Shady wrote: ↑12 Feb 2026 09:33 am https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/ni ... 897b&ei=15 Maybe the Phillies would send some cash with Castellanos in exchange for a mid level prospect. In 2021, the Cards traded Fowler to the Angels and paid nearly all his salary to the Angels.
If Philly wants to do that with NC, why not?

Exactly!sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑12 Feb 2026 09:58 amA one year fix for what? That’s the point. He is in the way. It’s a youth revival. The next saturation of players- next off season, will be outfield heavy. Just like now with our pitching and infield.Shady wrote: ↑12 Feb 2026 09:54 amCastilanos would be a one year fix for an outfield that needs help.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑12 Feb 2026 09:41 am No. I don’t think it’s realistic. You need to think younger and cost controlled.
Next. We are attempting to solve the outfield mess. With youth. Takes time. More than an off-season.
That’s the trick. Waiting
We ain’t competing.
What does a “one year fix” accomplish in 2026?
The OF is a mixed up jumble and you need to sort out:
*Is this it for Walker & Noot?
*Can Scott progress at the plate?
*Church getting a shot??
*Herrera possibly getting a look in LF?
*Baez becoming a factor later in the season??
I agree that nothing above makes you giddy with excitement but those questions need to be addressed.
Throwing Castellanos in(who is NOT a future answer)only creates a problem!
Oh and BTW....Castellanos is a [ablution]!

And after going to the Angels, Fowler produced a whopping -0.1 fWAR . . .
You’ve been given a laundry list of compelling reasons why Castellanos isn’t “the move to make”—the only remaining question is whether you are capable of actually engaging with any of them (let alone all of them) in good faith.

Re: This might be the move to make for outfield help
Are there any outfielders that will likely start out at AAA besides Baez that have a chance to be called up in '26?
Re: This might be the move to make for outfield help
Anyone who wants this guy on a young Cards team really doesn't understand baseball! Besides the fact that he is actually not a good player at this stage, not even bringing the crazy money involved to top it off! Do you understand baseball Shady?
