Next three games will determine the season
The next three games Mizzou play is probably the easiest stretch they have in SEC play. Miss St at home, Texas A&M on the road and Texas on the road. If they can win those three, they would be 7-4 in SEC play and 17-7 overall. If they were to win 3 more games the rest of the season, including the tourney, they should get in. If they drop two of those games or more, it is all but over barring a miricle as it only gets tougher. I don't anticipate them making any noise whatsoever in the tournament, but it is still very much in play.

They lose tomorrow and the downward spiral will take hold. I don't see them winning on the road at Texas or A&M based on the how horrible they've been to date. If Pierce, Ant, and Crews continue to play like they have been lately they may lose all three games. It's become obvious that Gates has no clue on how to game plan or who should get minutes. I suppose when you recruit poorly this is the result, they are simply not good enough to win most nights.

Well yes, if they continue as is it's bad news.Lightning Rod wrote: ↑30 Jan 2026 10:00 am They lose tomorrow and the downward spiral will take hold. The question is can they get it together and perform to their abilities.
Coach included.
And as OP said....this is a great time to get it together.

Mizzou's next three games after Miss St are at So Carolina, at Texas AM (not easy) and Texas at home.clemonsonroots wrote: ↑30 Jan 2026 09:25 am The next three games Mizzou play is probably the easiest stretch they have in SEC play. I don't really get the downward spiral you speak of...They have been pretty much the same team through SEC play. Some big wins and some bad losses. About a .500 team. The question is, is can they buck that trend and reel off three wins in a row? Also, ignore winonsports...have him on ignore and if you did, you would be better for it. He has nothing to say of value.

Well, they were 3-1, now 4-4 with an incredibly unlikely come from behind win. Lose tomorrow, at home, that's 1-4 over there last five. Spiral, I don't know, but the trend is not up.clemonsonroots wrote: ↑30 Jan 2026 17:50 pm I don't really get the downward spiral you speak of...They have been pretty much the same team through SEC play. Meanwhile, if you continue to feed a troll like Rod, then eventually you will see more people ignoring you

Hey, Roots. Are you day drinking? The Texas game is in Columbia. TX A&M is the #1 team in the conference. I believe they are 7-1. What the hell, man? The next game is in SC. You didn’t even mention them. Are you high?

Re: Next three games will determine the season
3 keys to the last 2 wins:
1. Defense. Yes, A&M rained 3’s tonight, but most well guarded. They pulled several of those out of their arses.
2. Rebounding. In these last 2 wins, Mizzou dominated on the boards.
3. Shortened bench. Gates, except for the brief spell late in the first half when Mizzou blew a big lead, has abandoned his Y-ball everyone plays approach.

Re: Next three games will determine the season
It appears the two games with our manufactured rival, Arkansas, will determine our fate.
Maybe the rivalry will become real?

4. Scoring more than your opponent.
