1 yr $14M with mutual option for 2027

Deal pays $10.5 M now with $16 M option year that has $1.5M buyout
It helps the Pirates and probably pushes the Cards into last place. With their pitching a little more offense will make them a lot tougher.
There are reports/rumors they are pursuing Paredes

Somehow, some of these guys find a way to win a "gold glove" with their bat.

The last two years Ozuna has played zero innings in the field but his bat can provide the kind of cheap short-term thump the Bucs need.

Shows how misconstrued that GG award is.

What does this mean? They have the best pitcher in baseball, a stacked rotation behind him, and the best prospect in baseball knocking on the door.

They've been trying like crazy to add offense to make this a competitive roster. They made offers to Josh Naylor, Kyle Schwarber, and Geno Suarez. Suarez took a lesser offer from the Reds.

They've traded for Brandon Lowe and Garcia and now signed Ryan O'Hearn and Ozuna. Still have Oneil Cruz and Bryan Reynolds.

It's not crazy at all to think they could contend for a WC spot with that rotation plus these additions. I think they've done a commendable job this off-season improving their team.

That is probably the most cringe outfield play I've ever seen. I laugh every time I see it.
Ball bouncing off Canseco's head and going over the fence for a HR is still top of the list for me. I still wonder if the official scorer called an official hockey scorer to see if Canseco should get an assist.

I'm sure the owners would never collude, but lo and behold each franchise is playing the part needed of them going into the most transformational CBA the sport has ever had. The Dodgers, Cardinals, Pirates, A's, etc all doing what is needed of them. Probably a coincidence?
Interested you included Dodgers? How so?
They drive the rage against the current system.
They do make the mouth breathers angry.

With the Pirates acquisition of Ozuna guess who has the lowest payroll in the NL Central?

I agree they are showing progress. I think they are a solid 3baseman from possibly being the 2nd best team in division. Their pitching is stud level, made some solid offense type moves, but just need a couple more and they may sneakily be the best talent wise in division just due to pitching.

Or does it show that anyone can have an outlier year?
