C) Crooks, Saggese, Fermin, Torres

I’d be fine with C if we put the money in to top of the rotation free agent pitching.
I’m afraid May and Lib will be the Cards TOTR SPs to start the season.

I’m hoping we have a good old fashioned competition for the bench.
I'm hoping Ramos is involved in the bench competition.
Would love it if Ramos looked really good in ST and took the 3B job! I've liked him in the minors and watched him many bombs against Memphis. Graceffo is probably glad he is a Cardinal now.

I still want Coby Mayo at 3B, though.

Someone's leaving out Velazquez

Herrera c
Burleson 1b
Wetherholt 2b
Gorman 3b
Winn ss
Fermin? Lf
Scott II cf
Walker rf
Velazquez?dh

Because maybe they'll slot Herrera at C to start the year. They'll give Gorman the chance at 3rd but I'd have Gorman DHing with Fermin at.3rd. And then try Velazquez in left.

Gorman for his career .796 ops as a DH, his highest by position. Uh, wow.

Keep 2 of Pozo, Pages, Crooks around so you can eventually put Herrera out to LF, and Fermin assumes 3B (along with Saggese) but Fermin assumes a superUrole.

So here's my version
C Pages
1B Burleson
2B Wetherholt
SS Winn
3B Saggese
LF Herrera
CF Scott II
RF Walker
DH Gorman (w/ very occasional starts around the infield just to give days off)

SuperU Fermin IF/OF
Bench: Velazquez LF/DH, C/1B, Torres??OF , Crooks or Church

That's 13

I'm chucking Nootbaar off on the boulevard somewhere on the way to Florida. Maybe just drop him in the Mississippi R. on the way out of town.

Mayo would certainly be intriguing

Do you think those 5-9 spots in the lineup can hit .200 collectively? If you are right, 2026 could be a very long year for us Cards fans. I'm hoping someone surprises us in spring training. It could one of those 5-9 guys.
