The St. Louis Blues have claimed Jack Finley off of waivers from Tampa Bay.

Finley, 23 has two goals, three points through 22 games played with Tampa Bay in the NHL this season

Guess he’s the younger version of Bjugstad.

Well good on them. May as well see what these guys can do.

Not good news if you are Joseph and/or Walker. He adds size and a physical presence on the 4th line. One of those two are most likely gone.

It’s definitely Joseph just due to his bad contract and UFA status.

Walker is signed dirt cheap for another 2 years and can be easily plugged in as an energy or morale guy if necessary. Walker is a 14th guy anyway in most situations

I like that he has size, 6'6" 220 ish.

Will he play with the big club or go down to Springfield?

Why not Blues need an identity I believe he was born in STL too. Give him a shot over the next 25 games to see if he can add anything

Since Finley such a big guy I looked up his fight card. The one NHL fight was vs. Nick Foligno. He held on most of the fight before turning his head away then taking 3 or 4 shots and going down. Finley's AHL fight was similar, losing the fight also turning his head away. However, this one ended differently. He connected with one punch knocking his opponent out. Finley has a big punch if he ever learns how to fight.

Strikes a nerve with you also when people
who accomplish far less use name calling, like JAG?

Critic production without personally attacking seems better.

Good call, got the same size and is also a right handed shot, which the Blues need a little more of.

It seems the Lightning were trying to sneak Finley through waivers during the Olympic break hoping not to lose him. Also, I read Montreal was intereseted in picking Finley up. He was around 50% on faceoffs with a lot of hits in low minutes played. Could be a nice pickup.
