Re: Faulk to Redwings rumor
If AI put the Re Wings jersey and helmet on Faulk, great job. He looks great in red

Rumor volat.
Re: Faulk to Redwings rumor
A DET fan in that thread mentioned having someone to shelter ASP, but that's who I want from them
I do think we have what they need/want. Thomas to DET would be epic for them.
Any chance we can move Krug in this deal? Just go home

Re: Faulk to Redwings rumor
Since the rumors started in the pre-season the Wings looked like the best partner for Faulk. This is a good hockey trade, they have assets that make it worth it, and have a need for Faulk to solidify their second pairing. I am surprised this hasn't happened.

Re: Faulk to Redwings rumor
Thomas isn't being traded without massive overpayment and Detroit isn't going to do that.
Re: Faulk to Redwings rumor
Thomas has more "time on the playing clock." That doesn't mean he should be the big clock in the front entry hallway that is used/checked to set all of the other clocks. But he it is still a useful and needed clock in the house.
We need another BETTER (bigger, more balanced pass/shoot skill, more durable, a bit more energetic...but at minimum as good as Thomas) Centerman. But we'll still need him.
A couple of players (not him) moved out at this point with an incoming get (which could include Cap flexibility to chase FA) as well as a hopeful impact high/soon impact draftee, and we can regain real momentum. Not going to happen this year. I've never been one to give up, but you have to be realistic and turn the page, while not throwing the book away.
And it's likely to be a couple of years before and IF we could get real lucky and have two extraordinary Centermen besides Thomas...a 32-Team league has a way of doing that to most.

Trading Krug does nothing for us, only save the owners cash.

Re: Faulk to Redwings rumor
Yup. In the offseason though, his contract may help a team with getting to the cap floor. The Blues don’t have to deal that contract, but it may actually happen this offseason with the cap jump. As you said, just saves cash and doesn’t improve or hurt the team.

I could be wrong about this, but insurance should be paying his contract.TruBlueFan_1970 wrote: ↑06 Feb 2026 09:30 amYup. I don't think we'd be getting ASP without a big add on our part. Faulk is still a pretty respectable 2nd pair defenseman type but he's going to be 34 in a month. You're not likely getting a blue chip 20 year old.

Re: Faulk to Redwings rumor
Right. You are looking at a first hopefully or a good prospect and a 2nd or 3rd would be my guess. I don't think there is any chance they move ASP unless they are getting a premium type dman with a good age and under contract...now, Parayko may fit that bill...bluetunehead wrote: ↑06 Feb 2026 10:52 amI don't think we'd be getting ASP without a big add on our part. Thomas has averaged 74 games over the past 4 years including playing every game 2 years ango. Any claim he lacks durability is not based on his actual history.

MBN is a better forward prospect but i dont think they want to let him go, basically a skilled power forward.

Re: Faulk to Redwings rumor
They aren’t moving ASP for anything we have. You can forget about that. I doubt they will move MBN either. In regards to Faulk, it’s will be a draft pick and a maybe prospect like Plante.
