Is it mandatory for the announcers to tell us there are 90 seconds left? 1 minute (60 seconds) + 1/2 minute (30 seconds) = a minute & a half. Genius!
Why do they have to scream? They'll be telling some story & not mention something exciting that's happening in the game then they'll turn around & scream about some marginally exciting play. I liked it when Bill Wilkerson got excited doing his play by play of Mizzou (& Cardinal) games, but he was the "home" announcer. These guys are not supposed to have a rooting interest so calm down.
I'll certainly miss that Jarrod's commercial once Valentine's Day passes. That chick is drop dead gorgeous. I really wish there was an end date near on that DirecTV commercial with the two dorks in furs, gold chains & wife-beaters. Creepy!
Speaking of DirecTV; I wish their guide would differentiate between men's & women's games. Trying to pick the games that I want to record I have to check the description in the Guide hoping they'll mention a player's name. Even if they do, sometimes I can't tell what gender it is (Sammi Pissis, Alabama St).

I just wish they'd announce who a foul is on and how many fouls that player has. It's actually a bit better than it was in years past but to me this is important info that doesn't get mentioned enough especially late in games. I skip past commercials, it's 2025 maybe learn to use your DVR or get one if you don't have one. I only watch funny commercials like the "home buyers becoming their parents", the guy buying the same shirt that's he's wearing will never not be funny.

Problem is that watching on WatchESPN, they've figured out how eliminate you skipping the commercials. I do skip on DVR but do see them as the speed by. Subliminal.

Marv, I love ya man, but what a “get off my lawn” rant…MizzouMarv wrote: ↑05 Feb 2026 21:00 pm Is it mandatory for the announcers to tell us there are 90 seconds left? 1 minute (60 seconds) + 1/2 minute (30 seconds) = a minute & a half. Genius!

How? I can see the commercial bar coming ups. I'll skip over it, but the commercial will play before the play moves forward to where I skipped ahead. I record nearly every game, so I don't have time to watch every minute. On the DVR I can FF to see if a game is close or not, but on WatchESPN I can skip ahead & cut out some of the action, but they still make you watch most of the commercials.
Here's another "get off my lawn". Sometimes there'll be more games than I can record so I'll record the replay in the middle of the night. The networks cut the games down fit a time period; 2 hrs for b-ball & 3 hrs for football. Often, they don't cut enough out & the game isn't over at the end of the time slot. I realize I can add extra time to my recording, but that's a pain. First world problems.
Rules question: When you are taking the ball out-of-bounds on your side of the court, when can you throw it into the back court?

Finished watching Vandy come up short after an amazing comeback. Then Bama @ Auburn intrigued me, but Dicky V. I'm glad he survived cancer, but his schtick wore out at least a decade ago. Come on, man, enjoy the rest of your life traveling the world with your family.
