Re: Schenn rumor repeated
Lol who is trading for both the Schenns? And why would they do that? If you aren't a playoff team, do they make you better. If you are a playoff team, do they actually make you better? I could see the Blues finding a spot for Luke when the dust settles. But this is goofy.
Re: Schenn rumor repeated
Does anybody look at Schenns +/-. His scoring; His defense?
Been a suspect year for one of my favorite players on the Blues.
I think the Schenn ship has sailed. If the price is low--he will have takers based on his grit playoff performance (or perceived performance(s)).

Re: Schenn rumor repeated
is the price low enough to not move him down to 3rd or 4th line on the Blues and let him be the C like Steener was? Schenn hasn't shown appetite to move so far. Why would the blues ship him off for peanuts unless he is asking to move and the Blues are doing him a kindness? Him and Thommer have both expressed that they want to be apart of the solution. Now that hasn't been said in a while so maybe that opinion has changed. but it has at least seemingly seen that way.BluesDom wrote: ↑05 Feb 2026 16:09 pm Does anybody look at Schenns +/-. I agree with you why would a team trade for both.callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑05 Feb 2026 16:04 pm Lol who is trading for both the Schenns? And why would they do that? I think if the Schenn brothers are matching up on the same team it's here in St Louis which I would be fine with

Why give this credence? Mushy and speculative language, and the credibility of Kypreos:
Nick Kypreos: Re Brayden Schenn: The rumours continue that he and brother Luke are hoping to come together in a new destination - Sportsnet (2/2)
Does that mean a townhome in Florida? Ron's Roller World in south St. Louis? Heaven?

I have posted before in other threads that I can see Detroit trading for the Schenn brothers. They are a team that could use veteran help at center and defense positions. I don’t know what they would part with to make it work but they have some youth that might tempt both teams.callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑05 Feb 2026 16:04 pm Lol who is trading for both the Schenns? If we move Faulk, I’d entertain the idea of adding Luke for the remainder of the season.callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑05 Feb 2026 16:16 pmis the price low enough to not move him down to 3rd or 4th line on the Blues and let him be the C like Steener was? Out of the 2, Luke is the easier to move and he should come fairly cheaply. I kind of like the dynamic of adding Luke to keep Mailloux from taking too much responsibility while still adding more ATOI
Re: Schenn rumor repeated
I'd take Luke. He's tougher than anyone we got on the back end. He'd add some instant backbone and toughness and it might help rejuvenate Braydens game back to normal. Luke doesn't really move the needle much but his presence could have an impact. Blues D is Charmin soft still.
Re: Schenn rumor repeated
Why in the world would the blues need to pick up Luke Schenn.
It makes as little sense as keeping Schenn, Binnington or Faulk.
We need no old guys coming back on any trade.

In our situation. Why even [fork] with Kessel. We have many others youngin's to look at. Bench Fowler for all I care. Bring up more of the A.

Re: Schenn rumor repeated
If the move was for next year because we traded Faulk. I'd be ok with a 1 year extension for "the feels". Reason being is Faulk right now makes the most sense in Jiricek waiting room. He's not going to be ready to be a full time defender next year. And neither will Mailloux for 2nd line. If Faulk gets dealt, we need to find a 1 year filler to buy some time so the young forwards can play a productive brand of hockey. You throw Jiricek, Mailloux and Tucker out there again, just open the net and call it a day. Too much young talent on the team to not give the guys a chance to shoot for the starts in the first half the season and see if it works out. If it doesn't then sure trade a few more assets. But this "rebuild" can't be at the expense of hope. We aren't in that position yet.BleedingBleu wrote: ↑06 Feb 2026 15:32 pmRight, who’d want40 year old Ryan Suter36 year old Luke Schenn w/his 132 Hits & 53 Blocks, who’s a UFA at seasons end, when we could pair Fowler w/Mailloux on the 2nd D-Line and Tucker w/Matthew Kessel?
Multiple teams have had super down years due to injury and bounced back and been relevant. Stars are one of them. Heck Vegas had a real down year for their standards before they won the cup.

That’s my point. Should the Blues deal Faulk, it would be a disservice to both Mailloux and Jiricek’s player developments.callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑06 Feb 2026 15:46 pmIf the move was for next year because we traded Faulk. Having Luke on a 1-year bargain basement deal w/Jiricek waiting on the wings would allow the Blues to retain their Captain, get the chemistry boost from the brothers, add that element of toughness, and possess a Stanley Cup Champion pedigree veteran presence on the defensive line to better guide the desired youth-movement.
I don’t know that we get much benefit from trading Schenn, especially when he can steer the trajectory based on where his brother can go. I’d rather have Brayden’s influence than say… Kyrou’s. Brayden won’t score like Kyrou, but hopefully Snuggerud or Holloway will.
Next year, you’ll have Brayden continued mentoring of Holloway, Neighbors, Snuggerud, Dvorsky, and maybe Carbonneau. Luke could be that stay-at-Home, hard-hitting physical Defenseman that frees up a Fowler and mentors a Mailloux. Maybe Lindstein finds some minutes.
2026/27 Lines
Pavel Buchnevich -- Robert Thomas -- Jimmy Snuggerud
Jake Neighbours -- Dalibor Dvosky -- Dylan Holloway
Otto Stenberg -- Pius Suter -- Brayden Schenn
Alexey Toropchenko -- Robby Fabbri (or Center return in Kyrou deal) -- Jonatan Berggren
Philip Broberg -- Colton Parayko
Cam Fowler -- Luke Schenn
Lohrei-type LHD acquired Faulk/Kyrou -- Logan Mailloux
Joel Hofer
Jordan Binnington
Scratched: Justin Carbonneau, Robby Fabbri/Oskar Sundqvist (both UFA), Nathan Walker, Tyler Tucker, Matthew Kessel
My hope is a Faulk deal happens with the Bruins and brings a similar haul that they offered for Anderson (Lohrei + First) and Kyrou is moved in the offseason for similar deal to what Seattle offered last year (Top 10 equivalent from either the 2025 or 2026 Draft, or highly drafted but Prospect Center)
imo, Luke shouldn’t cost more than a late 4th (Bjugstad?)
