My initial thought on that goal was the near to 0 effort given by Kyrou as Heiskanen entered the zone and skated by him.

My second thought was the terrible back check by Neighbours.

Just watched this morning.

A few minutes before, Buch and Kyrou 2 on 1, Panger can't believe he chose to pass

Heiskanen knew he could skate freely along the wall. Was that Kyrou who was with him but just didn't lean into him? Either way, several Blues had a chance to paste him to the boards but instead let him cruise right in while the whole team watched as Benn snuck in back door.

Great way to lose after some nice goals.

Yeah was Kyrou. He basically pulled up n tried to poke check instead of taking the body.

What I saw was a Dallas team that can sit back, relax, and then flip the switch whenever they want. They had the Blues in the palm of their hand. At times they completely took over the game, then backed off — which actually cost them for stretches — but the difference is they can turn it back on instantly.

The Blues can’t do that at all. There’s no extra gear, no switch to flip. Dallas dictates pace when they choose to; the Blues just react

Pretty goal by Snuggerude but man Montgomery’s really sucks.
I think they have some good pieces, I just think Montgomery has no clue what he’s doing.

Mailloux is getting more confident and the game is starting to slow down some. He’s doing a lot less panicking. Nice to see him get a little bit of PP time.
Snuggy is figuring it out as well.
Offensively Buch, Jake and Kyrou are on fire.
Benn was left alone by the net earlier in the 3rd as well. Team needs to figure the D zone coverage out.
Too many players play too passive. 2-3 players reaching for the puck on Heiskanen instead of pinching him off against the boards. Need to play the players that have that in their DNA.
Sunny looks like he’s labouring to get around the ice. Rest him, sit him, need to get some life into the bottom six. Hopefully Berggren isn’t sitting anymore.

I did not watch much of the game but checked back and forth to see the score. Watching that and the Preds game it looks to me like other teams have figured out they can push our guys around and they are doing it. Cross checks in front of our goal and their goal, questionable hits all over the ice. They find a guy like Tucker and goad him into hitting back and taking a minor. IF they get called they know our PP is weak and they can take the chance.

Add to that lazy play leading to us taking minors- like Fabbri's- and a weak roster and it does not bode well. I'm in the blow it up camp now because they really are not worth watching.

Him sitting was a CLEAR signal to me that this team doesn't care about winning anymore this season, which is fine. Even Pang said on the TNT broadcast that Monty made an effort to get Walker in the lineup because of the long travel that his father went through from Australia to make the trip. Guessing the same happened with Kessel and the 11-7 format.

And agree, that while he isn't a perfect by any means, Berggren has been a pleasant surprise and should be in the lineup and in the top 9, as should Stenberg post Olympics. I hope they find a way to extend Berggren as an RFA, but at a reasonable 1-year prove it deal.

Armstrong has assembled the softest defense in history. It’s so soft that a normal minor leaguer in Tucker has an every day spot and they traded a 20 goal scoring rookie for an unproven but very large (in size) defender who has some “edge” to his game.

I couldn’t believe they let that Star skate into the zone last night untouched. I did believe that Binner thought he was going to shoot from that terrible angle and came out to challenge/locked then fell on his stomach for the cross ice pass.

Kyrou is too afraid to play in this league. All he probably had to do was make some contact with Heiskanen, and there's no goal scored. Lame.

Ah, that makes sense. I was like "Kessel? and Tucker? and Mailloux? Is Fowler out? No?" ha

Agree on Berggren. He is talented and relentless. I suppose he is in his make or break year, but I still wonder what happened in Detroit for him to have that rookie season and then be waived several years later.
