Re: Panarin to LA
Sounds like he forced his way to LA
I’m told the Kings were the only team Artemi Panarin wanted to go to and the only team #NYR had to work with.
Return is Liam Greentree, a conditional 3rd that can become a second if the Kings win 1 playoff round (would be better of two Kings 3rds) and a conditional fourth-rounder in 2028 if the Kings win 2 playoff rounds

Re: Panarin to LA
Will Panarin make them better or worse? I watched Boston destroy a wholly disinterested Rangers team earlier this season.

Everything I read said he was definitely interested in Florida (he is the godfather to one of Bobrovsky's kids) but the money just wasn't plausible there.

Thomas and Kyrou are paid very well. Not sure they can de traded at all.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑04 Feb 2026 14:27 pm i wonder if some teams that missed on Panarin will inquire about Rouzy
It would be great if we could get some great value--I dont see it.
Maybe this summer. Too darn complicated to make a trade like that now. I may be wrong.
May see Faulk, Suter, or Joseph traded.
Sunny--maybe--

Yeah I figured, was just throwing a wee bit of sarcasm out there. Many of the Florida fans were pretty positive he would still force himself there however, so a little shaudenfraude if you would.bluetunehead wrote: ↑04 Feb 2026 14:48 pmEverything I read said he was definitely interested in Florida (he is the godfather to one of Bobrovsky's kids) but the money just wasn't plausible there.

Re: Panarin to LA
outside of Panarin and the GM saying no extension devaluing him. this shows a market at the moment. the cap going up is signaling teams aren't going to give up cost controlled because they will be able to stack some lineups in the offseason, losing young guys is how you reverse the wiggle room for future cap.

Ouch that GM in New York is going to get roasted by the fans. That return is awful.Unfathomable wrote: ↑04 Feb 2026 14:09 pm Artemi Panarin to LA for Liam Greentree and a conditional third person elliotte.

Thanks for sharing the details. Seems like an average to below average return (considering the extension and retention), but everyone in the rest of the thread filled in the gaps on why. Good point by Harry about inquiring teams potentially shifting to Kyrou.

Re: Panarin to LA
Other teams had been prepared to offer in the neighborhood of 4-years x $11.75m, which is how you know Los Angeles was his preferred destination.Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑04 Feb 2026 15:12 pmRumors that Tampa was in on it but couldn’t get a deal doneTheJackBurton wrote: ↑04 Feb 2026 14:55 pmYeah I figured, was just throwing a wee bit of sarcasm out there. What leverage did the Rangers have?
Greentree is a big winger who's crushing it in OHL. Rangers made out ok. They moved a lot of money too.
Panarin is an enigma.
Would the return for Kyrou then be a late first rounder who has great junior/college numbers?(i doubt him, buch or thomas get traded due to term and salary and production)
