Yeah but that could add to the appeal... if he doesn't while a broadcaster, then it could possibly make it more entertaining and likely deliver more sensible commentary, given what we hear now!

Holy Cow! Cubsch win. Cubsch win (hic!). Ah, ya’ can’t beat fun (burp) at the old hockey rink (hic), eh, Schteve Schtone?!!

BTW, it’s really hard to type in “drunk-speak” when OttoCorrect wants to change intentionally misspelled words! 😝

I have to assume Vitale has a strong connection to some decision makers for him to have landed that job as he did....or maybe he was just what they considered a logical choice?

Either way, TJ's reference to the Alum here was telling and surprised me a bit that he cared to that extent. Maybe he would consider coming here to do the games if he had a stable offer.

Seems to me the Alum thing here is a lot stronger than in other markets. One big tell on that is the off springs love and hard play and huge success they have had playing hockey here. Really outstanding.

Well, he did have the support of Berglund. But I liked both of them anyway.

I didn’t like the trade…….I can’t believe we couldn’t get more back. But I understand why it was done, and was absolutely the best thing to happen to Oshie. He needed to grow up and I think the trade did that for him.

AJ Mlesko wasn't wrong when she called him the "mayor of St. Louis"

Everywhere he went in this town he would get absolutely mobbed. Why would you be forced to grow up when you were basically a King?

The trade to Washington really had to readjust his state of mind. he was never going to top Ovechkin or quite frankly Nick Backstrom he essentially just blended in his first season or two and then I think kind of became a fan favorite. We tend to forget but when he was traded he had just gone through the medical scares with his daughter and his major partying days were over.

Maybe he matures properly here and like most I hated him being traded but ultimately it ended being the best thing for him. Not that he ever gave off an air of being superior but he seems very grounded now.

That’s a good take, Jack……definitely better than mine!

You weren't wrong either Frank, it obviously had a profound effect on him if he was bitter about it until he retired.
