Fridge mentioned that he believed Panarin would be dealt before the trade freeze…he said 75 to 80% chance.
Re: Sell off in 3 2 1
A lot of Panthers fans were saying they thought FLA was after him. Might have changed after last night though...Not sure what they could give. They mentioned Verhaeghe but I believe he has an NMC on his new deal that is already in effect.Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 13:02 pm Fridge mentioned that he believed Panarin would be dealt before the trade freeze…he said 75 to 80% chance.

The Blues can only lose 2 spots in the lottery. Say they finish 2nd, they could only move back to 4th.netboy65 wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 13:27 pmI thought there might be something like that in place, but I wasn’t sure.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 11:05 amIf the Blues finish last then they can only fall a spot or two...netboy65 wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 08:30 amToo bad due to the lottery, we’ll probably fall to 7th or 8th. Well NY is either going to have to retain or FL is trading a roster player/s. They have the worst rated prospect pool in the league.Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 13:42 pmThe rumor is he wants to be a Panther. Guess we will see. They have no first rounders the next 2 seasons, and 2 2nd rounders this year and 1 next year. I get trying to chase a 3 peat but they'd be far better off just letting this season play out.

Yep, not sure how Florida acquires him without sacrificing roster slots and I am not certain how the New York GM justifies to his fans a trade of Panarin that doesn't result in at least one first round asset back.

Number 4 overall in 2008, Alex Pietrangelo.Old_Goat wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 12:41 pmWell we did in 2006... but your outlook is definitely understandable and a good question.netboy65 wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 08:30 amToo bad due to the lottery, we’ll probably fall to 7th or 8th. Thanks. I misremembered and thought that we caught a break and moved up to #1 in the Draft Lottery only in 2006 and not in 2008. But apparently no move in either case...we were real bad in 2006 and just bad in 2008.TAFKAP wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 14:48 pmNumber 4 overall in 2008, Alex Pietrangelo.Old_Goat wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 12:41 pmWell we did in 2006... but your outlook is definitely understandable and a good question.netboy65 wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 08:30 amToo bad due to the lottery, we’ll probably fall to 7th or 8th. Re: Sell off in 3 2 1
None of know how much input Steen has with Army regarding the TDL. I hope he's pushing to sell.Old_Goat wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 08:19 amWhen I look at your thoughts & assessment of the For Sure, Probable and Possible Buyers, it really indicates an opportunity to potentially clear a couple of Cap & cash eaters that are on the debatable bubble of "should we just move on." I'm sure there will be a lot of angry debate here for those moves, but at least we do have flashes of young talent depth. If we can fill that Center hole and get a shot at a consensus exceptional talent at whatever position, it would be nice.TheHighHat wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 05:53 am The question becomes which of the buying teams steps up first and makes a big move?
I suppose you can flip the question and ask which of the selling teams feels that are getting full value and trades one of the big boys first?
There are still a ton of teams that will wait until the TDL to make moves because of uncertainty of making the playoffs.
Buyers for Sure:
Carolina (2C & RHD)
Detroit (2C & RHD)
Minnesota (2C)
Dallas (RHD)
Tampa (RHD)
Colorado (RHD)
Vegas (LW)
Edmonton (Winger)
Probable Buyers:
Montreal (2C & Depth D-Man)
NY Islanders (2C and/or Top 6 Winger)
Anaheim (RHD)
Buffalo (Top 6 Winger)
Utah (Depth)
Washington (Scoring Forward)
Pittsburgh (Forward & D-Man)
Possible Buyers:
Ottawa (RHD & Scoring Winger)
Los Angeles (Top 6 Forward)
Seattle (Top 6 Winger)
Winnipeg (2C)
Boston (Depth)
Buyers or Sellers?:
New Jersey (Top 6 Winger)
Columbus (Top 6 Winger)
Nashville (Forward & D-Man)
San Jose (Forward & D-Man)
Sellers for Sure
Vancouver
Calgary
NY Rangers
St. Louis
Probable Sellers
Chicago
Philadelphia
Toronto
That leaves Florida.
They have 2 games left before the break (Boston & Tampa). They need to win both.
It just seems like a lost year for them.
You can blame the injuries but the biggest disappointment has to be Bobrovsky in his walk year.
Zito is a riverboat gambler though.
Does he somehow make Panarin fit or does he write this year off and trade Greer and perhaps E-Rod at the TDL?
Obviously all of their big guns are under contract save Bob so it might be a quiet deadline for them if they don't go on a winning streak.
They could use a full summer of rest so they come back healthy and refreshed for the 26-27 season.
It won't be easy. But unfortunately it could be more fun to see what happens than it is to watch the actual Blues' games during the next month.
Regardless, Army can't overplay his hand and miss out because he waited too long or tried to extract too much in return.
He must get quality picks and prospects back this TDL to get another wave of young guys in the pipeline.
No one in their right mind wants to bring all of these stale vets back again next season.
In the order of how likely they're traded this TDL:
Faulk
Schenn
Kyrou
-----------------
Binnington
Fowler
Parayko
Thomas
If Binner shines in Italy, Army should cash that ticket in.
If he doesn't play or play well, you keep him because next season is his walk year so Binner should be motivated to bounce back in a big way.
I think Fowler and Parayko stay for the time being.
One of them will probably be traded at the 27 TDL
I don't consider Buch tradeable right now and the return for other players like Joseph would be negligible.
I agree that the TDL will be much more interesting to monitor than the games themselves.
However, there have been TDL's that have been much ado about nothing. We shall see.

Well Panarin does have a NMC so he controls all of this. If you are Drury I guess the diplomatic thing to do is go "I'll do what I can to trade you to the team you want, but if they are offering me nothing then I would like a list of 4 other teams you would be willing to accept a trade to"MandatoryDenial wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 14:31 pmTheJackBurton wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 14:12 pm Well NY is either going to have to retain or FL is trading a roster player/s. What will suck is if Panarin tells him no it's Florida or nothing then Drury is absolutely up against the wall on it.

Yes, thank you. I certainly remember it was Erik Johnson. His "bad break" obviously had nothing to do with the league...maybe just a bad BRAKE!netboy65 wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 16:02 pmWe did have the top pick in ‘06 and took Erik JohnsonOld_Goat wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 15:59 pmThanks.
