Unbelievable
Coach Harper is one of the best coaches in the nation. Mizzou will never be on South Carolina, Texas or LSU level because they get the best players in the nation and the portal, Coach Harper will get this program in top 25 and top 6 in the best conference in the history of women's basketball. They had zero business beating Mississippi State with Mizzou's talent and Mississippi State talent. Mississippi State just beat 12th ranked Tenn on Tenn. court. Harper has 5 very good high school players coming and will add a 2 portal players and with who can come back they will be very competitive and will be an NCAA next year. She took over Mizzou program that was a dumpster fire not no more. Here come the Tigers 2026 2027 season will be a 20 game winner. WNIT this year what an accomplishment that will be.
Re: Unbelievable
So, after I saw this post I went and watched the game and I've only watched a few games this year and this team is looking pretty good. They can rebound, they don't really turn the ball over like they used to under the Pingeton regime, and they have guards that can drive AND score. So frustrating watching previous teams not be able to make layups. Just a much better executing team than we've seen in years. Harper knows what she's doing and I look forward to more winning in the future.
Re: Unbelievable
agree robin should have been canned a couple years before as her squads were just not competitive.
Harper has already totally changed the dynamic of WB at MU. going to be very interesting with this new class comes in. they are finally playing fundamental BB and outplaying More talented teams.

Coach P's teams were a mess. They were sloppy, couldn't rebound, and just not fundamentally sound. She had teams that should shoot threes though. Totally wasted Sophie Cunningham. She's got Wisconsin solidly in the bottom half of the B1G.hdhntr148 wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 08:59 am agree robin should have been canned a couple years before as her squads were just not competitive.

Harper's a real coach and I have no doubt that we'll be regulars in the tourney once she get a couple recruiting classes under her belt.
Re: Unbelievable
Pingeton was and is totally incompetent. Wisconsin will find out what Mizzou sadly learned during her tenure.

It didn't take long for the attack group to find a way to take something positive happening and deflate it

Re: Unbelievable
Just started watching the replay. Good start but only took 2 minutes to throw a bad pass. It amazed me how one can throw a cross-court pass to a teammate when there's an opponent nearby. Just because the opponent isn't up in her grill doesn't mean she can't move before the pass gets there!
State had an experienced team at least they had a gray-haired lady.
State had a couple "bigs" that controlled down low (Mizzou outrebounded by 11). Had they continued to go to them they might have won, but they got anxious & rushed too many shots in the 4th. Mizzou hit some big shots (particularly one by Slaughter near the end) & won by 8. Although Mizzou had "only" 13 turnovers, it seemed like a lot more. Reduce those & do some better rebounding & win more games. Dowell can get to the hoop & finish. Mizzou shooting won it (FG 58%, 3-pt 46%). Harper has them improving!
