The one remaining question.

Post by Melville »

Since Bloom foolishly traded Donovan for a collection of long-shots, it answered one question and left one unaddressed.
Moving Donovan (the CORRECT BASEBALL DECISION was to keep him and move him to LF) brought clarity to the muddle brained mess created and ignored by the incompetent Super Slo Mo.
It is now obvious that The Marmot will be required by Bloom to start Gorman at 3B, Winn at SS, Wetherholt at 2b, and Burleson at 1B - essentially 3 LH bats and a plus glove at SS.
That is a good thing and will produce an above average infield.
They will keep Lars The Human Sushi-baar and hope that he can return to the playing field from his latest life-threatening injury at some point and rebuild some tiny amount of trade value by July (I was the only person on the planet who correctly advised trading him over the past 4 season while his value was artificially inflated, which would have avoided the current trainwreck).
A scrum will cover LF until he is ready to fail again in 2026.
Which leaves just this:
Who is the DH?
Three possible answers.
Bloom acquires a player such as Andujar (who could also fill in temporarily in LF as insurance for the current non-ambulatory Mootbaar) as the primary DH.
Or, that is the true role STL has in mind for Herrera, anticipating he will yet again prove inadequate as a catcher.
Or Bloom plans both.
