Re: GDT: Blues at Preds 7:00 FanDuel
Funny thing is, I was listening to hockey talk and they talked about Red Wings making playoffs for first time in 10 years and I remembered the Blues being up on the Wings 4-0 halfway through the game back in October?
Thought that was the only time I'd ever seen the Blues blow a 4-goal lead. Gotta hand it to these guys. They REALLY want those Stenberg brothers.

That is a "time to make a move, any move" kind of game.
There is something very wrong with this group.

Missing Thomas and Holloway, for starters.britishblue wrote: ↑02 Feb 2026 23:12 pm That is a "time to make a move, any move" kind of game.

Behave, they were shocking with Thomas.DawgDad wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 02:14 amMissing Thomas and Holloway, for starters.britishblue wrote: ↑02 Feb 2026 23:12 pm That is a "time to make a move, any move" kind of game.

They allowed 5 goals between the middle of the 2nd and the middle of the 3rd, while sitting on a 4 goal lead.
That is awful on so many levels, even with injuries.

You’ve likely heard of the Monday Night Miracle. Now we have the Monday Night Meltdown.
Re: GDT: Blues at Preds 7:00 FanDuel
NSH and their veteran lineup finally decided to turn it on.
I'll take losses like these for the rest of the season.

Personally if we don't win another game I would be completely o'k with that especially if it means drafting Gavin McKenna or Stenberg's brother. To me that is the only long and short term goal left for us.

Mediocre results? Ridiculous. Until this last downturn, there was a period beginning with the hiring of Hitch, we led the entire NHL in wins. We won our first Cup. Just a nonsensical post. Army, like every GM, could be questioned, but his tenure here has been an indisputable success. He will go down as one of the best GM's in NHL history. First person in management in Double Triple Gold Club. one of the fastest to 800 wins. Easily top 8-12 All-time.Rollin' on the River wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 07:14 amIt is indeed.
But when your ownership puts your GM on a pedestal despite pretty mediocre results for the entirety of his time here, you have a problem.

Fine build him a statue. What has he done the last 5 years? Millions in bad contracts on this team. He said 5% improvement 100 pt team. Pretty bad miscalculation I’d say.esp31 wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 07:25 amMediocre results? Ridiculous. You're still missing the point, Jay. It has little to do with Binnington.slimjay63801 wrote: ↑02 Feb 2026 21:42 pmBecause he is the worst goalie in the league? Check his numbers Dalton. It's very simple. It's mostly about the defense, but Binnington is awful..sdaltons wrote: ↑02 Feb 2026 21:38 pmIt's funny to watch how people react to the two goalies on here.2forDiving wrote: ↑02 Feb 2026 21:27 pmThese are the same goals that have been going in against Binnington and everyone wants Hofer. Hofer gives up the same goals and it’s not his fault.hotrivets wrote: ↑02 Feb 2026 21:20 pmWhich goals were soft?2forDiving wrote: ↑02 Feb 2026 21:19 pm Been saying it for a few weeks now, Hofer hasn’t been good either.
Why is he starting Binny? Does he not care about winning?
Hofer plays instead and is also terrible. Why isn't he bringing in Binny?!?!?!
Re: GDT: Blues at Preds 7:00 FanDuel
So you were on record before the season saying they would one of the worst teams in the league? I didn't see many of those predictions here. I saw a lot of "comfortably in the playoffs." I myself had them as a bubble team. It's his job to predict, so he deserves a big part of the blame, but who knew nearly every player would be 30% off their normal production, both goalies would suck the first month, etc.Bacchk29 wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 08:13 amFine build him a statue. I was saying that Rollin's comment that he was "mediocre during the entirety of his tenure" was bull[shirt]. Nothing more, nothing less.

That curb stomp was the tiny, nearly non-existent sliver of hope that this team would somehow rally and make the playoffs.
Re: GDT: Blues at Preds 7:00 FanDuel
I missed that. My apologies. For the record I thought they were a bubble team as well before the Bolduc trade. It made them worse. Nobody expected the goaltending to blow up like it did that’s for sure.esp31 wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 08:32 amSo you were on record before the season saying they would one of the worst teams in the league? Re: GDT: Blues at Preds 7:00 FanDuel
It's pretty obvious that there comes a point where no goaltender can carry an entire team. All players get down on themselves at times. It's especially bad when everyone expects you to be the stopper, when the team in front of you is making mistakes or not. This is still a team game and Binny and Hoff aren't the only players on the team. Parayko scored his first goal, but it's not all his fault etc, etc, etc.
Re: GDT: Blues at Preds 7:00 FanDuel
I agree. It's been a collective failure from the players, coaches, and management. I still wonder what these guys do in the offseason. Is there a reason we must limp out of the gate nearly every season, getting three coaches fired in the last 6 plus years, and needing miracles to make the playoffs?Blues Dave wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 14:42 pm It's pretty obvious that there comes a point where no goaltender can carry an entire team.
