Maybe later but I don't see them trading catching until they know where Ivan plays. So maybe June or later.mattmitchl44 wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 06:40 amI think they have a surplus of catching prospects that they can move to obtain prospects who fill other organizational needs.Alex Reyes Cy Young wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 05:51 amI’m not sure this management team would trade Crooks or Pages. They barely make anything.
Jojo on the other hand makes 4.26 as a relief pitcher. I think he has a good chance of ending elsewhere.
Who gets moved next?

Maybe, although they could just go with one of Pages or Crooks with Pozo until Bernal is maybe ready later this year.HorseTrader wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 07:22 amMaybe later but I don't see them trading catching until they know where Ivan plays. Re: Who gets moved next?
I wouldn't. Getting an above average OFer doesn't make this team good, in isolation. And, they're clearly not making additional moves to add to the MLB roster right now. Plus, I don't think the Cardinals have a clear evaluation as to which Catcher(s) they'd prefer to keep. Until they know, they should keep them. Lastly, whoever they would get, likely wouldn't be an all-star. There is a scenario in which a healthy Noot matches or outperforms the guy they trade for.BrockFloodMaris wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 07:22 amYes, you are probably right. Re: Who gets moved next?
I'd say it's JoJo and/or Noot BUT not till midseason.
They could even become a package that brings back a solid return if both are healthy and having solid starts to 2026.
(Also could see a catcher dealt)

Re: Who gets moved next?
Jojo is the only one I could see still being moved before the season, but I doubt it.
Jojo and May will almost certainly be dealt at the deadline, Noot is another option, but we need OFs so this isn't certain if he rebounds.
As others have mentioned they will need to address the logjam of catchers on the 40 man roster (and coming up in the system) but I doubt that happens before we see what Herrera can do there in an extended look.

Theyve already said they are looking to trade Jo Jo. Noot is here because he's injured. Pallante? Doubt he would return much.Alex Reyes Cy Young wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 05:54 amSo you think Noot and Jojo have a good opportunity to get flipped? What about pallante he’s making 4 mil curious if they could package him with Jojo or someone and get back a prospect.JuanAgosto wrote: ↑02 Feb 2026 22:27 pm Anyone making above league minimum. DeWitt would field a team of beer vendors if he thought it'd get him an extra buck. He probably checks the clubhouse for loose change after games.
