I understand the skepticism.
But....it is probably easier to deal pitching for hitting than vice versa?
Count me in as looking forward to the changes beginning in 2026.

+1 pitching is gold and if you have a cost controlled rotation and not Having to over pay for non aces like gray and mediocrity like mikolas Gibson and Lynn then you can spend on offense and trade excess pitching for hitters you need

The Cards definitely have some holes in their lineup.
And 2026 could be make or break for a few position players.
But....in general I’d feel more confident looking for hitting as opposed to pitching next offseason.

I think it’s giant steps compared to the past. I’m still laughing that people thought we could get Montes straight up for Donovan. That Montes wouldn’t be enough. .

I’m definitely more excited heading into 2026 than I was 2025.

Walker - 279 G, -2.7 WAR 88OPS+
Nootbaar - 527 G, 9.3 Career WAR. 109 OPS+ OK that looks decent on paper, but which was is he trending?
Herrera - 203 G, 4 WAR, 127 OPS+ - does he build on this and become a true plus player or is 19 HRs his ceiling?
Burly - 414 G, 2.2 career WAR
Winn - 316 G, 6.5 WAR, outstanding rookie year - have to reasonably assume there's more upside there.
Scott - 191 G, 2.2 WAR 64 OPS+
Pages - 180 G, 2.2 WAR

You’re 100% correct. 1500 more abs means nothing when seeing what you have.
Career war means nothing to me with a youth movement.

We know what we have with Gorman. We know what we have with Noot, with Pages. I'm not against a youth movement, but we don't have enough of the right youth. They were 29th in HR and slg WITH Willson and Donny. Now they are gone and this might be the worst lineup in the league sans JJW and Hererra.

At what point do you decide you've seen enough and trade for more better hitting prospects. We aren't going to become competitive very quickly when that desperately needed additional elite RH MOTO bat isn't even in our system. We need quality young hitters, not just warm bodies.

In a rebuild, you don’t replace all the players the first year. Or everybody would do it.
