Who are the bats?

Post by JuanAgosto »

Since Bloom is focusing on pitching returns, who is left to hit? Right now, this is what we could see.

Burleson - 1b
Wetherholt - 2b
Winn - SS
Gorman - 3b
Herrera - C
Church - LF
Scott - CF
Walker - RF
DH - Saggese? Pozo?

If Gorman plays 3rd base, we may lose 95 games.
Idiocy.

Its their only option right now. And I think they lose 100.

Saggese can handle 3rd better than Gorman.
But I think Cards will give Gorman first opportunity.

DH Gorman. Maybe 1B if his back can handle it doubtful

Disagree. Fermin is underrated consistently here.

I'm now thinking JJW plays third. Gorman and Saggese platoon at 2B.

At some point Nootbar comes back and plays LF. Unless it's Herrerra.

But yeah, no that's not a good lineup. Built on hope of both Walker and Gorman breaking out and JJW being all that.

The 2026 lineup is not important.

Correct!

Just because it matters, doesn't mean we don't understand what's going on.

But every game matters! That's why you have MLB teams.

It’s make or break time for Walker & Gorman.
Possibly Noot also.
I admit their chances don’t look great.....but they need to be given one more year.
Fingers crossed!

I don’t think any of the above could necessarily start for the Dodgers. Some could reserve. Several wouldn’t make their team.

There will be plenty of folks on here that focus almost entirely on these three things:

The 2026 MLB 26-man roster
The 2026 MLB payroll
The 2026 MLB win/loss record

These folks will not be happy through this rebuild for quite some time. The immediate focus and priority for Bloom and Company are really none of those three things. This rebuild is going to take some time (years).

I hear you. I would have liked to have seen Fermin get more time last year. Maybe he gets a legitimate shot this year.
