Re: A10 Championship
From ESPN (posted prior to the Bill's victory on Saturday)
"In the 50 years since the Atlantic 10 was formed, the conference has produced four generational teams: Temple (1988), UMass (1996), Saint Joseph's (2004) and Dayton (2020). The first three were No. 1 seeds, and the fourth (Dayton) would have been if not for COVID-19. The current A-10 leader -- Saint Louis (22-1, 10-0 conference) -- isn't quite at that level but could achieve as much as (or more than) previous Billikens teams once it reaches the tournament. The Billikens are second nationally in both effective field goal percentage (0.61) and 3-point shooting (41.3%). And, courtesy of KenPom, we know their 2-point attempts come closer to the basket (3.8 feet) than any other teamβs. Combine that with the country's best effective field goal percentage defense (0.43), and what we're witnessing is an analytical unicorn -- one to be very wary of picking against come March."
