Trading them doesn't fix anything

Texier didn’t have a no trade clause.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑13 Jan 2026 18:44 pmTexierblues2112 wrote: ↑13 Jan 2026 17:51 pmAside from Saad, who else?BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑13 Jan 2026 11:28 amYeah....he puts them in the minors until they give in.Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑13 Jan 2026 11:02 am Doug has always said there is a way to get around the no trade clause so we will see

Re: How do we move on from Buchnevich and Kyrou?
3 reasons why you’re absolutely wrong:
1) It creates a great deal more cap room going forward
2) It reduces the talent floor and ceiling on current roster which should increase odds of drafting much needed elite talent
3) It removes Kyrou’s bad example as soft player who is more concerned about himself than the team when the going gets tough as seen in playoffs
This doesn’t take into account what Army would get back in return. And If he gets back nothing it would still be a net long term advantage bc of the three reasons listed above.

I think Kyrou bounces back next year. I’m keeping him. Buchnevich is probably untradeable unless Armstrong is willing to take on an equally bad contract.

People are way to ate up with who we move out. Its about what we bring in.

Re: How do we move on from Buchnevich and Kyrou?
Guess we will have to keep rooting for them as well as the rest of the Blues.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑13 Jan 2026 10:58 am Is there anyone here that would take on the contracts of Buchnevich and Kyrou? I doubt it. There is no way that another GM is going to take on that "risk". Their long-term no-trade contracts are deal breakers.
So now what? Will they prevent any re-tool of the team for another 5 years? Will the Blues have to eat their salaries?
Thoughts?
Go Blues

Thats really not the point, getting rid of players simply because your mad that we are not better is irrational and doesn't fix anything unless you are replacing them with better players.
I'm not a big fan of either of these players.

What do you even consider ‘back’? I think Kyrou will get a deal similar to Zegras — nothing better. We’re overvaluing him way too much. The Blues will do just fine without him, and I wouldn’t trade him for anything less than what Zegras deal.

Re: How do we move on from Buchnevich and Kyrou?
Torey Krug proved every ounce of Armstrong not telling anyone the truth about no trade clauses. Really people are still like "we will find out eventually"? I mean it happened already and this is a settled question. The answer on Buchnevich is Armstrong's as stuck as he looks. He has one move, send Buchnevich to the minors (or threaten) if he has any deal on the table for Buchnevich to sign off on. But we are talking about a mercurial, emotionally not centered player. I don't trust the situation at all.

Who’s mad at the players? They’re part of why the team’s bad. Schenn Parayko Binner there’s 20 mil in cap and they don’t figure in your future. Add Faulk and that’s 27 mil. Spent on guys that aren’t part of your future.

Re: How do we move on from Buchnevich and Kyrou?
I think its unlikely that any of the "Big 3" are traded at the TDL and its not really that urgent. Arent we gunning for a Top 5 pick? I wouldnt want Army to make a bad deal just to make a trade. Kyrou and Buch havent been good for 90% of the year apparently Thomas whos been OK has been dinged up.
Unless someone blows me away i dont trade Kyrou just for picks and prospects i would want a stud young RH shot back. Lack of right handed forwards have hurt the Blues in the past. We cant be sure a 19 or 20 year old Carbonneau is coming right in and we dont want to have just Snuggerud as the only scoring option on the right side.
The best case scenario right now is the Blues draft a strong young prospect this year, they go into camp with a ton of options and legit young players pushing Buch and Kyrou for playing time. Then the Blues can assess. Perhaps Buch and Kyrou slip down to a 3rd line.
Im looking for Army to move on from
Fowler
Binnie
Faulk
Joseph
Fabbri
Im keeping Schenn as a leader
Neighbour Thomas Snuggerud
Stenberg Dvorsky Kyrou
Buch Suter Holloway
Walker Schenn Torop/Bujdstad
Broberg Parayko
Lindstein/Fowler Jiricek
Tucker Mailloux/Schenn (Luke)
Something that looks like this

I like the line up and I know it’s only a small sample size but unless his play regresses Berggren is on one of the top 3 lines for me.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑02 Feb 2026 11:16 am I think its unlikely that any of the "Big 3" are traded at the TDL and its not really that urgent. I like the idea of keeping Schenn. Blues need some identity.

You know what i fully agree i would resign Berggren as well i think hes played well for the Blues. He can skate and has skill which the team totally lacksBluesfan1978 wrote: ↑02 Feb 2026 11:37 amI like the line up and I know it’s only a small sample size but unless his play regresses Berggren is on one of the top 3 lines for me.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑02 Feb 2026 11:16 am I think its unlikely that any of the "Big 3" are traded at the TDL and its not really that urgent. IMO cap space is absolutely useless to us right now.Bacchk29 wrote: ↑02 Feb 2026 10:47 amWho’s mad at the players? They’re part of why the team’s bad. We already have more of it than we are probably able to spend wisely, if that changes I'll be all ears but changing that will be the hard part.
Don't get me wrong, if we get something good back I'm all for it but there is no reason for us to give them away or pay to have someone take them right now.
Buch and Kyrou are currently our 2nd and 3rd scoring forwards, let the young guys take those spots(let nature take its course)
