Cards Emptied Trash, Restocked Storage, Did Nothing for This Season
The Cards emptied the roster of what they did not want. That's ok.
Restocked the minors with a zillion B level prospects. That's ok.
Did nothing (accept to sign May) to make current 2026 roster even remotely watchable. Too many current members on the roster proved last season they are not good! A couple of veterans like Hays, Quintana et al - not a whole roster full, just a couple of them here and there will not block anyone but would make this team just barely watchable. Nothing wrong with that even in a full on rebuild!
Maybe Chaim with still have something Bloom before the season begins.
Either that or Billy is bout to sell...please sell!

The club will win about 60 games…
is there value in burning roster spots on players who might make the club “watchable “ by winning 65 games ?

Re: Cards Emptied Trash, Restocked Storage, Did Nothing for This Se
If its the right young proven players then absolutely. When we traded for Renteria who was already an AS, we won 75 games the next year. We didn't have to wait until some critical mass was reached or we'd already built a winning team out of our own draftees. But we kept him 6 seasons and he was an integral part of the rebuild and we kept adding to it. (We also hung onto our top two prospects Drew and Ankiel and still managed to make that blockbuster trade to get him with a former 1st round pick and some B raters).

Personally, I am invested in watching the rebuild.

Ok dug. Serious question for you.
If the younger players add excitement out of the gate, and let's say they start the season after the first 40 games 23-17. Are you going to the games to see them? Or still boycotting them because they're winning without household names?

I readily admit that I don’t have an informed opinion on the prospects Bloom has obtained this offseason.
Therefore as is my nature.... I will be optimistic as to their success.
What amazes me is that there are so many other UNINFORMED posters who have already written those prospects off as garbage.

Baffling. To each their own i suppose. As for me, with the youth movement, I'm more excited for this season than I was last year.Cusecards wrote: ↑30 Jan 2026 17:44 pm I readily admit that I don’t have an informed opinion on the prospects Bloom has obtained this offseason.

The same posters who want to “tear it down” also want to win in 2026.
I like to think I have reasonable expectations and am excited for the youth movement also.
God Bless the anonymous Internet!

I will watch with more interest than the last few years. Whether or not I stay awake is yet to be seen.

Agreed. My boss has liked me a lot better with more than 5 hours sleep though..RamFan08NY wrote: ↑30 Jan 2026 19:24 pm
Look at it this way. The team CANNOT be as boring as they've been the past 2 years.

Your opinion…
This team is not going to contend for a playoff spot…
given that, the record is irrelevant…
To make questionable roster moves to impact “watch ability” is of no value…
85 losses….95 losses…105 losses….it just doesn’t matter….
