Holy One-Timer Batman!
That Snuggerud goal was awesome last night. Between him and Dvorsky, its starting to look like the Blues may finally have that one-timer presence they have lacked for the last decade. Hopefully they can start to make that more of a feature of the power play as these guys progress.

I absolutely love the fact Snuggerud is no longer deferring. Nothing wrong with getting your assists but with his shot he should be trying to put a shot on goal every time he crosses the blue line.the miracle wrote: ↑30 Jan 2026 10:53 am That Snuggerud goal was awesome last night. Re: Holy One-Timer Batman!
One thing Snuggerud loves doing is shooting the puck. Goes back to his college days. It's what he does. And he does it well. That shot last night is a perfect example of his ability to snap a puck off on a nice set-up leaving the goalie to wonder, "WTF just happened." And he's always chomping at the bit. Taps his stick all the time. He wants the puck. He wants to shoot.
Dvo has a similar makeup but don't think it's as hard as Snuggerud's but close enough. They both possess the ability to shoot the puck top shelf and in the corners, which not everyone can do.
Agreed. They are blessed with a wicked one-timer. Glad we have that in our arsenal.

I really hope he develops more as a player as opposed to a shot. Barely noticeable most nights for me
Re: Holy One-Timer Batman!
Awesome--in a bummer of a season. This is something to celebrate! Great shot. Great win.
Jimmy is special.
Dvorsky, Snuggerud are legit.
Stenberg will be a player. Neighbours is gonna be here a while.
Broberg is now our#1 D-man.
If Holloway would return and start playing every game--we might turn this around.
Maybe after the break we see Thomas and Holloway.

If it turns into a regular threat it should open up more space on the PP.
Ways to go tho, teams aren't afraid yet. I do think our forwards have recently been biased toward this attribute. Carbo Stancl Mrsic I would say also have this attribute in addition to the two rookies on the roster. The first two those should make it. Jiricek and Fischer are one-timer friendly.

Re: Holy One-Timer Batman!
Forgot to mention, and they touched on this during the game, Snuggerud's stick configuration has a really low flex rating (more "whip") and a longer shaft to maximize his elite shooting ability.
He synchs his talent with sticks that fit his style. Kind of unfair for goalies.
Also, do not underestimate his release on wristers. Impressive too.

Yes - I haven't been as high on Snuggerud as the majority of the fanbase. (I like him, just want to see him prove that he's worth the hype). But him shooting the puck more these past few weeks is starting to pull me into the fold.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑30 Jan 2026 10:56 amI absolutely love the fact Snuggerud is no longer deferring. I missed that in the telecast last night - thanks for passing along!John Cocktoastin wrote: ↑30 Jan 2026 12:06 pm Forgot to mention, and they touched on this during the game, Snuggerud's stick configuration has a really low flex rating (more "whip") and a longer shaft to maximize his elite shooting ability.

BTW - I love the screenname reference. Anytime the Mrs. and I go out for a semi-expensive dinner I tell her we'll just put it on the Underhill's tab.

Yep. My favorite movie. Fits the whole fake persona mystique of message boards. Have had it since before they reset the whole board recently - I think 2008 or something.
That's awesome, Miracle. I use it too - for reservations at restaurants. The scene with the Underhills is a classic. Glad you picked up on it!
Waiter:
Excuse me señor, you are a member of the club?
Fletch:
No, I'm here with the Underhills.
Waiter:
The Underhills? They are left, Señor.
Fletch:
Oh they'll be back. He went out for his urinalysis.
Waiter:
Would you like some drinks, señor, while you wait? I will put it on the Underhills' bill.
Fletch:
Oh, yes. Very good. I'll have a Bloody Mary, a steak sandwich and a...steak sandwich.
Re: Holy One-Timer Batman!
Agree...we talk of his shot and it is great but it's his shooting that might land this player as a point leader...he is NOT bashful about it.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑30 Jan 2026 10:56 amI absolutely love the fact Snuggerud is no longer deferring. Re: Holy One-Timer Batman!
Anyone who can hit a spot with a one timer will always get plenty of goals in the NHL.
These guys get drafted. But in the past have become trade bait for the untouchables. Like Thompson was to Kyrou. Bolduc for whoever.
This is nice to see . Things look to be going in the right direction with a pp plan/set plays.
Devo has already shown to be a decent enough Third line center that's still moving up, and id guess projects as a decent second liner.
As we know here, there are 32 second line centers, in the league. So no doubt he can be a second here.
For me ive been a little underwhelmed with his playmaking/offensive skill. Including finding open ice to use that one timer. Offensive skill/pm, is one of the two important skills. I'd want to see from a 2c. On the defense side. He's a few pounds and a little man strength from it.
The team needs big things from Dvo but Snuggs is rowing in that same boat. I hope they don't drag down his confidence (ever) by doing what they've done to Kyrou and Thomas. As we don't need board work from a shooter.
Give this guy a set of hanging targets and let him work on his top two shots.
But work on it this year. To be a top skill for next year and beyond. As we could really use some top talent this draft year.

Re: Holy One-Timer Batman!
Way back I recall seeing Snuggerud unleash a one-timer in the WJC that was awe-inspiring. I was disappointed when he went off to college.
