If Thomas is getting traded it's going to be for a NHL player/s of equal value and at center.
If they trade Thomas I think the full reset is on. What team that is contending is going to trade for Thomas only to send an equal player of value back? Montreal isn’t going to trade Suzuki? Is Detroit going to send Larkin? Is Carolina going to send Aho? Not sure how that would make any sense for the team trading for him. I’m sure there would be a roster player of some sort heading back but the prize is gonna be a top prospect or two….my opinion of course…if they were to trade him.
Well that’s the thing…all the players you mentioned there are better than Thomas. I wish Thomas had the balls of a Larkin. Wish he skated like him too
Who else at center on those contending teams that are rumored is close to equal value?
I was agreeing with you in that those teams are going to be trading players in their primes who are better or equal to Thomas.

The time explore the best value for Thomas is summer unless someone comes in and blows your hair back

Hard to disagree. Based on the discussions amongst various threads, it seems possible we might be able to acquire an NHL ready center who is young but still with some years and potential to grow.

Actually, just looking at Detroit's roster, Thomas and Faulk would be perfect fits, and they should actually be begging to go and maybe even bring Kyrou along with. Detroit even has the cap space to make a big trade work. More to your point, we could take Copp, Compher, or Rasmussen.

A win-win for both teams, from a Blues fan's perspective, looks something like this:

Krug (just go home...)
Thomas
Faulk (or Parayko?)
Kyrou (or Holloway/Buch?)
Other NHLers DET wants (Joseph, Suter, etc.)

for

(Berggren) (Fabbri lol)
ASP
Danielson
Bear
Johansson
Holl (contract dump)
1st and 2nd, 3rd next year
(maybe a contract like Copp)

Kyrou-Larkin-Raymond
Debrincat-Thomas-Kane
etc
Chiarot-Faulk

Sounds like the Jets are pretty close to acquiring Wright. That’s a shame, I think he’s someone we could grab for below value. Seattles really screwed him up. I think he’s someone that really excels with some role/line consistency.

Do you know what the return is rumored to be? We were talking Kyrou. What does Winnipeg have to trade?

Would be a shame to miss out on him to our division rival without even trying. Of course, our veterans with NTC have something to say in the matter.

I'll bet our vets with NTC can't wait to escape this mess, the pressure that comes with it and a fresh start. Regarding Wright, it kind of like David Legwand. When you are a top pick for a new franchise there is huge pressure.

Speculation is a swap for Perfetti.

That's what I thought, but what else? Surely Wright has more value to Seattle than Perfetti? Admittedly, I don't have much knowledge on either situation.

That’s what’s frustrating. Its speculated that it would be pretty close to a straight up swap. Rumor is Seattle is going to take a lot less for him than many would think.

He’s a kid that desperately needs a change and I’m sure Seattle sees it as well. Apparently he’s been seeing a sports psychologist and has just been fighting it mentally.

I didn't know the situation was so dire. Could see Army knowing more about it and deciding against acquiring him, but he also likes reclamation projects, so it just seems right up his alley.

I don’t think it’s dire but he definitely admits the transition and constant change in Seattle has worn on him.

This is an interesting listen and shows a lot about his character (which some on here have questioned), his focus, professionalism, and really just reassures that he’s going to be a special player one way or another. Hell the kid was consensus #1 overall for a bit.

That's why he isn't getting traded. I can't see anyway the Blues brass would be all in on a complete overhaul

The 19-25-9 for 47 points mess. The five game losing streak mess. The -53 goal differential mess. The below expectation mess. That's what I'm talking about.

Why would that make them want to get out? How doe getting traded to a 8th seed that my not make the playoffs make the mess any better?

Im not saying we shouldn't look into making trades, but they certainly aren't upset about being here.

They are playing hard, not comfortable.

Hell Faulk is having the best game of his entire Blues career tonight.
