Shots fired at Army (figuratively)
Army talks about the disappointing season. Dom Luszczyszyn and Greg Wyshynski criticize Army fairly heavily in response.
Homer Trigger Warning: this video may cause:
* Anger: quick irritation, rage, or hostility toward critics.
* Sadness: low mood, disappointment, or feeling let down.
* Anxiety: nervousness, restlessness, increased worry about the admired person’s reputation.
* Denial: refusal to accept the criticism as valid.
Cognitive
* Confirmation bias: focusing on information that defends the admired person, dismissing negatives.
* Cognitive dissonance: mental discomfort from conflicting beliefs (admiration vs. criticism).
* Conspiracy thinking: imagining coordinated attacks or unfair motives behind criticism.
* Defensiveness: publicly defending or arguing for the admired person.
* Aggressive commenting: hostile posts, trolling, or personal attacks on critics.
* Withdrawal: avoiding discussions, media, or social spaces where criticism appears.
* Appetite change: eating more or less than usual.
* Somatic tension: headaches, stomach upset, muscle tightness.
* Identity threat: feeling personal identity undermined if fandom is core to self-image.
Severity/when to seek help
* If intense distress, intrusive thoughts, persistent anger, social withdrawal, or physical symptoms significantly impair daily life, consider talking to a mental health professional.
Quick coping steps
1. Pause before responding; delay public replies.
2. Fact-check sources and read full context.
3. Label emotions (“I feel angry/sad”) to reduce reactivity.
4. Take a break from triggers (social media, forums).
5. Discuss feelings with a trusted friend not invested in the fandom.
6. If overwhelmed, seek professional support.

Re: Shots fired at Army (figuratively)
Pietrangelo was the downfall … they are just stating the obvious.
Not only his physical absence, but the way their leader was poorly treated impacted everyone. Ask Perron how he felt.
It’s nice people are holding Armstrong to the coals. I mean the team will be pretty trashy for years to come. Part of the problem is Armstrong’s assessment. Why is he extremely embarrassed? What was he expecting? Look at the players

Shouldn’t guys like them know the difference between a NMC and NTC?

How do they? They said Army gave other players what Petro was looking for. He was looking for a NMC. Big difference. I’m glad they’re not handed out. That’s what’s handcuffed the leafs.theograce wrote: ↑29 Jan 2026 17:20 pmThey do. Thats what you focused on? The only way to coming close to repairing this travesty moving forward is a Pietrangelo statue. It’s embarrassing what happened for the organization and city.
I mean Al MacInnis and Federko have them lol

They were talking about protection. Everyone knows the Blues made a huge mistake. Armstrong called it the biggest regret of his career. You should console himBluesfan1978 wrote: ↑29 Jan 2026 17:25 pmHow do they? They said Army gave other players what Petro was looking for. He was looking for a NMC. Big difference. Re: Shots fired at Army (figuratively)
I don’t need to console anyone. When speaking about someone making a mistake be factual if you want people to take you serious. I head Armstrong say he made a mistake. Wonder what Petro conceded on during negotiations?theograce wrote: ↑29 Jan 2026 17:31 pmThey were talking about protection. Everyone knows the Blues made a huge mistake. Re: Shots fired at Army (figuratively)
What's insane about this is you fully know Petro dwarfed Krug in talent and then Krug, who got most of Petro's money, went and did exactly this. Refused a trade that only needed his approval so that the team you root for could get better, but the little waterskiier selfishly wanted his money. And Petro is the villain. It's just ... it's like a lot of things these days.Bluesfan1978 wrote: ↑29 Jan 2026 17:25 pmHow do they? They said Army gave other players what Petro was looking for. He was looking for a NMC. Re: Shots fired at Army (figuratively)
Well he does. He publicly called it the biggest regret of his career and that he thinks about Pietrangelo every time he walks by statues (which is often).DawgDad wrote: ↑29 Jan 2026 17:39 pmI hardly expect him to wallow in the past.theograce wrote: ↑29 Jan 2026 17:37 pmYou should message Armstrong and console him on his intense regretDawgDad wrote: ↑29 Jan 2026 17:34 pmEveryone? Just shut up already lol. A proud man who has problems discussing his feelings does so … and you discount it. Keep playing the fool
Re: Shots fired at Army (figuratively)
I’m just glad you clarified they were figurative…
