Doyle should be in camp. JJ should have been in majors last year.

AND……they rushed Gorman and Walker.

AND…….some AA players are ready now.

Do any of these guys crack the OD roster?

My guess:

JJW
And 1 or 2 of the LHP for the pen.
(I'll go with Thompson and Packy/Schuster)

I hope JJ makes the ODR.

A couple of years ago, it appeared that Thompson had it figured out. Then injuries have derailed him. I am guessing this is his last chance. He is forgotten on this board and by almost everyone. But if he has recovered, he has high end stuff. He could be a dark horse for the rotation or at the very least the swingman. A potential upside surprise guy. In 2023 he struck out 72 in 66 IP. He also started 9 games and did OK. Lets see if he is ready to go and has anything left.

Not just injuries. The realization that you can't blow away major league hitters like you can minor league hitters resulted in his stock falling. He must develop an out pitch. Until then he's just another guy.

Matt Koperniak (SP?) invited to ST. No doubt someone has logical explanation. 3 catchers invited?

Linarez, Tarlow, and Yerzy are depth catchers needed in ST to help catch all of the pitchers' pens, etc. They always bring in a lot of C's.
Then they still have the 40 Man Roster C's (Herrera, Pages, Pozo, Crooks, and Bernal).

Koperniak has been in Memphis for a while now. Was close to making it last year, but unfortunately his left-handedness kept him down. The he followed it up with a pretty poor year, was DFA'd, then resigned with Memphis. He just got an invite again. Pretty slim chance he gains any traction. (Although with the thinness at the OF position, anything is possible!!)
