Are the Blues Scouts preparing for a TOP5 pick?
Are the Blues Scouts preparing for TOP5 pick? If the Blues anticipate a high chance of getting a TOP5 pick, they should be scouting the TOP prospects exceptionally hard to make sure that they make the best choice on draft day. Are they in the stands watching Reid, Stenberg, Verhoeff, Meholtra, etc.?
Anybody know?

Re: Are the Blues Scouts preparing for a TOP5 pick?
No, the Scouts don’t have any idea what they’re doing. They need us to tell them. If we don’t discuss it on this forum, they won’t know what to do. It’s very important that we tell them that they might get a top five pick. Without this knowledge, they will have no idea what to do.
Re: Are the Blues Scouts preparing for a TOP5 pick?
They are probably going to trade the pick at the deadline as Army is allergic to TOP5 picks.

do people who aren't the main character even know what to do unless the main character prompts them? due to the truly non-appreciated magnificence of this underdeveloped boy's mind, we have to consider they might not!
I have some bad news. the day after the OP dies, just like with every person, the world will not even notice them missing and go on the next day

Some on this thread want to know that the Blues are prepared to make a critical TOP5 pick. They don't want to miss on the next Ovechkin.
Others are worried about what happens when ASOGG dies.

Little known fact - the OP's doctor recommended that he wear a helmet when playing hockey and also for when he's not.

Little Known Fact - Doug Army has not selected high in the NHL draft in 20 years for the Blues. He is certainly not experienced at it. Is he ready for the moment? Fans want to know.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑27 Jan 2026 11:46 am Little known fact - the OP's doctor recommended that he wear a helmet when playing hockey and also for when he's not.
A Complete Unknown Fact - 98% of Blues fans expect a TOP5 pick based on team rank. What does Blues Management see and expect? Do they see it differently and why?

I know. It's just one of those things that comes with a Manager building an above average successful organization/team throughout a many years' timeframe.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑27 Jan 2026 11:54 amLittle Known Fact - Doug Army has not selected high in the NHL draft in 20 years for the Blues. Re: Are the Blues Scouts preparing for a TOP5 pick?
No,
They are not preparing. They will wait until draft day and throw darts. (Lets hear your prepared reaction to this. The team is not preparing at all.
No preparation. )
Maybe you need to call the GM and educate him on what he needs to do. Maybe setup a meeting with the scouts so you can advise them on your revelation. Your wisdom. What would management due without your insightful thoughts and ideas.
Nobody cares bub.

Re: Are the Blues Scouts preparing for a TOP5 pick?
Doug Army has not selected high in the NHL draft in 20 years for the Blues. He is certainly not experienced at it. Is he ready for the moment? What do you think? As the roster stands currently, Army's roster shows below average "uplift from the NHL draft". Look no further than our "best players", Kyrou and Thomas. According to Army, our best players are being outplayed by the other team's best players, and guess what. The other team's best players to which Army refers were acquired via the NHL draft. It is therefore quite fair to ask Army if he is prepared to FINALLY make good use of the NHL draft.
Further, 98% of Blues fans expect a TOP5 pick based on team rank. What does Blues Management see and expect? Do they see it differently and why? Are the Blues scouting accordingly?
I'm NOT IMPRESSED with what our scouts have brought to our roster via the NHL Draft --- compared to what other teams have. I want that to change, and I'm asking questions on BluesTalk because that is my only recourse.

Re: Are the Blues Scouts preparing for a TOP5 pick?
You dont think that our scouts are scouting the top prospects?
Why would you think this? Are we not one of the worst teams in the league?
What is your point? What do you hope to accomplish?
The GM has some victories and some losses.

no the Bot is on record saying the Blues will go on a late run and be selecting just outside the playoffs. IT says that is Army's plan. It is now polluting the board with all kinds of rhetoric. So now it's the Blues are picking Top5, the Blues will make a late run, The blues will make the playoffs and IT will leave the board. IT basically has covered all the options.

Re: Are the Blues Scouts preparing for a TOP5 pick?
I hope to hear that the Blues are preparing for a TOP5 draft pick because the chances are high that they will get one.
I hope to hear that in response to that they are preforming scouting like they have never done before in 20 years. There should be a Blues tent outside every skating venue where the anticipated TOP5 are playing. Or, to be simple, the Blues should be doing what Colorado, Edmonton, and Carolina do to nail elite talent often. The Blues DO NOT need to be scouting AS MUCH the many 3rd-liners that come into play when you pick around #15.

Edmonton made many drafting errors. https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/draft/tea ... 05632.htmla smell of green grass wrote: ↑27 Jan 2026 13:57 pmI hope to hear that the Blues are preparing for a TOP5 draft pick because the chances are high that they will get one.
