Try Otto at center in the minors
Since he is being sent back down why not try him at center. He played there most of his career and if we might draft his brother it wouldn't be a bad idea to have them play on the same line as center and forward. What does it hurt at this point when they are talking about possibly trading Thomas
. If that happens you figure DVO moves up to 1C with neighbors and Kyrou, second line would be the Stenbergs and snuggs, third line would be Buch, super and Carbs next year. 4th well it depends on who stays and who goes.

What could go wrong by having a up and coming prospect who had a good introduction to the NHL switch positions in the middle of the year after he was already moved off the position years ago.StLouis-4Life2 wrote: ↑26 Jan 2026 16:47 pm Since he is being sent back down why not try him at center. Hmmm. I’m going to need some time to think about that.

Id say yes, based off the previous poster’s answers.
Re: Try Otto at center in the minors
Although it's potentially a tempting thought, because as I watch his smarts, instincts and all-around ability he does appear to be a player whom could be a regular Selke award candidate, but the reality is that he has been for quite a while developing as a Leftwing. And right now he and Neighbours are our two best Left-wingers. Most often since the Centerman position has greater D-zone responsibilities, along with more opportunities to disrupt opponents in the forecheck, they generally are more visible for the Selke award. Yes Bob Gainey and Jere Lehtinen come to mind as wingers.
Our team's bias right now for potential great shot goal-scoring shooters (Snuggerud, Carbonneau) are on the right-side, so having Neighbours and Stenberg style of play on the left fits well. And Holloway is also equally valuable left or even off-wing (right side).
We need ANOTHER higher level talent faster skilled real Centerman and one with greater reach, size, speed, durability and the instincts & willingness to support the D-zone retrievals and exits.
I know it's not easy to get.

HMM I personally think that is a reasonable idea.

Re: Try Otto at center in the minors
Dude strikes me as someone who could slot into that C position pretty nicely...I think you'd still need Dvo and then someone else down the middle in your top 6, but I could see Stenberg as a phenomenal 3rd line center who plays tons of PP/PK time, as well. Maybe that ship has sailed and he's too far removed from playing C, but he seems like the type of player who could figure it out if you thrust him into the role. (Unlike someone whose name rhymes with Schmuchnevich.)
Re: Try Otto at center in the minors
If the guy was capable of being a C he'd already be one. No one would have slotted him onto the wing if he was equally capable at C.
