Would a Thomas for Stutzle trade work?
Ottawa isn’t doing that…
Do you mean the Blues would need to add to the trade?
What about Thomas and Binner for Stutzle plus a prospect?
If Ottawa keeps missing the playoffs they risk losing Brady in two years. Thomas could be a piece that helps them keep Brady.

Would Thomas even be an upgrade over Stutzle? Admittedly I haven't watched Stutzle much, but they're both PPG centers with Stutzle being a bit more of a goal scorer.

Celebrini.

The GM office has some big decisions coming up. Are they comfortable in the near term with Thomas and Dvorsky as the 1-2 Cs? If they are, which I believe was the plan, they can draft another center for the prospect pool. If not, if they want to get better at center quicker, they need to make a BIG move.

Despite there being a couple of talented LWs at the top of the draft class I'm not believing that's a wise choice unless the pick is deemed a Kucherov/Kaprizov/Rantanen level talent. If that's what McKenna and Stenberg are then by all means go for it; otherwise, they need a top-6 center in their prospect pool.

No, they aren't likely to get Celebrini, but that's my answer to the question posed.

Not sure what the trade would be, though……Thomas is too much (and I don’t think we trade him), Faulk isn’t enough, and I’m not sure if Montreal wants or needs Kyrou. But I’d move Kyrou in a deal that brings Hage back. Obviously not a 1-for-1 trade……we probably have to take Laine’s contract back and we pick up an additional pick or prospect. Or maybe they would want Binnington if he shows signs of coming out of his funk, assuming Binnington would agree to go there.
And Montreal does not need another D-man, so there's that. If we could take Laine and get their best D-prospect and ideally a 1st but at least a 2nd round pick for Kyrou, that could be interesting.

The athletic listed Danielson and Hage as premium assets that might get moved at the deadline. I’d love to land Danielson without trading Thomas but that seems unlikely.

He’s going to be an all time great. Saying it isn’t likely might be the biggest understatement of the last five years.

While their points are similar, Stutzle is younger, still has more potential in his game, and most importantly, is more competitive, and has some occasional grit in his game. Unfortunately Ottawa wouldn’t do a straight up swap. I do wonder how much more itd take to get em tho.

Helenius is up and playing very well for the Sabres, no way they are moving him. He had 3pts in his 2nd game. Sabres are a fun watch and my goto team right now.
Detroit has a lot of young talent but I don’t see them moving Danielson unless they are getting a big name in return.
I wanted Helenius so badly in 2024, along with MBN. He went 14, MBN 15 and then we took Jiricek. So close to having one of them.

I imagine Celebrini is probably the most untouchable asset in the entire NHL.
