I agree. Very encouraging.
I'm happy that our trade bait is playing well too.
Re: GDT: Kings at Blues 7:00 FanDuel
Outside of Kyrou what trade bait is playing well? Scheen is invisible most games and a defensive liability at center again (watch him leave the 4th Kings goal scorer all alone). Faulk is absolutely terrible on both sides of the ice but maybe a team would be dumb enough to overpay by looking at his goal total.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑24 Jan 2026 22:06 pmI agree. It would all depend on who we get back but trading our yearly leading goal scorer and point producer behind Thomas when the Blues are DEAD LAST in goals per game doesn’t sound very appealing without knowing the return.

One of the most engaging games I’ve seen out of Kyrou in a long time.

Nobody wants to crawl out from under our trade bait more than I.stlblue06 wrote: ↑24 Jan 2026 22:31 pmOutside of Kyrou what trade bait is playing well? So when Buchnevich, Kyrou, Faulk and Schenn put up points I'm very happy because
1) They make a trade more possible.
2) The better their stats, the better the return. I have very low expectations about the return in general.

If the choices are..MiamiLaw wrote: ↑24 Jan 2026 21:36 pmI just can’t bring myself to cheer for them to lose no matter where they’re at
1. Cheer them on to hopefully get back to their all too familiar ‘Mushy Middle’ spot, and back to a Top 15 to 25 pick,
Or..
Cheer them on to lose as many games as humanly possible to get us the Top 5 pick this team desperately needs,
Im gonna gleefully root for L’s while simultaneously smiling at the thought of better days ahead in the not too distant future once they draft a difference maker, and hopefully draft even more talent with more 1st rounders and/or prospects if and when Army does a proper sell off.
I get all tingly inside at the possibilities, and get the opposite feeling at the outcome of doing whatever it takes to stay stagnant with this broken down clusterphuk of a team.
Not singling you out or anything either, even tho Im technically…singling out your post.

Competitive losses. That is what I want to see this season and this game delivered.
Keep improving in the right areas (rookies, goalies, coaches) while losing. Secure a top 3 pick. Secure additional firsts and seconds.
StL fans can eat L’s all day if the team plays exciting hockey.
That was exciting hockey.
Trade #18.

When I lived in Dayton Ohio back in the ‘80’s we got down to minus 22 F actual and minus 75 windchill. Was brutal.
It was in the mid 60’s yesterday afternoon here 25 miles NW of San Antonio. Had 3/4 inch of rain and thank goodness it was still in the 50’s. Because it’s now 25 F. At least for now it’s dry but they’re predicting freezing rain from 8 to midnight.
I’ve been in TX 30 years now and I’m a total wimp in cold weather now. Company I retired from had a plant in Levis, Quebec, just across the River from Quebec City. Went there once in January when it was minus 20 F. Not fun.

My wife’s cousin lives in Lake Tomahawk. Their home is right on the lake. My future wife and her folks moved from Madison to Chicago finally landing in St. Louis when she was 10. We used to drive up to Kenosha, Milwaukee, and Wausau to visit her relatives.wiscrev wrote: ↑29 Jan 2026 11:21 amIn the Northwoods of Wisconsin.Hazelwood72 wrote: ↑24 Jan 2026 17:34 pmBrrrrr….thats dang cold. Sounds like you’ve got good weather for a big ol’ 55 gallon drum of wood lit on fire and some pond hockey.
Just don’t drive the snowmobile on the lake in March when it’s almost thawed!!!
Cheers, and stay warm & safe!

I'm up the road in St Germain. 15 minutes from Lake Tom. Been here for 14 years, before that North Dakota for 17 years. The weather we are getting now is the usual North Dakota weather. I have a bad shoulder so I don't snowmobile any more but I am the Track Chaplain for the the WCSD, the World Championship Snowmobile Derby in Eagle River [13 years]. It's considered the Indy 500 of snowmobile races and we pull in 30-40,000 spectators. I'm also hooked up with both Snowmobile Hall of Fames in Eagle River and St Germain.
