it was an extremely bad move and I'd bet they will never admit to it. But the only reasoning I could come up with ws evolving access to the players. Kelly never did anything outside of the game. Kirbs does both radio and the game. And Vitale does all of their social media prep stuff and does the radio segments and player interviews. I'm assuming they were betting on the future.

I'm old and respect and appreciate Dan and John Kelly.

But holy Checkerdome, get over it. Kerber and Vitale are imperfect, but bring refreshing energy and are much improved since start of year.

Totally dig the actual St. Louis — not Ottawa — references to game and Blues history.

I’ve come around to appreciating Kerbs. I miss JK but Kerbs has more energy to his calls and has improved his approach for tv as the season has gone on.

Still don’t care for Vitale. He just comes off like a dunce.

It just comes down to small market money limitations. Same reason Pang is in Chicago now.

I’m kind of onboard with the “get over it already” contingent. That said, I’m not a fan of Vitale and I’m not sure I ever really will be. The flip side is that Kerbs is, and has always been, pretty darn good. He calls a good game and I think a lot of people who think otherwise are simply too (upset) about JK’s departure to be unbiased.

I'll agree that Vitale is unlistenable. And some of the stuff that comes out of kerbers mouth is a bit cringe worthy, like "armpit farts". I personally like kerber as an announcer. I always thought Kelly was a little too dry, but he was super professional. Nothing against him. When it comes down to it, I'm watching for the game, not the announcers.

Exactly. The announcers just don’t matter all that much, even though I certainly have preferences like everyone else. It just seems to weird to me that the Blues are having one of the most disappointing seasons in their recent history and people are angry about the announcers…LOTS of other bigger problems to worry about right now.
