Good for Dabo! All the teams work in the gray areas this day and age, but Ole Miss took it to an extreme level. Hopefully, something positive will come out of this, but I wonder?

Can you Imagine.
A College Student Player enters the Transfer portal
Said player signs a contract with a University
The University Gives the Student Player an Apartment
The Student Player is already attending Classes at the University
Another University contacts the Student Player and he tells them NO I'm not interested.
That University contacts the Student Player again and offers him One Million Dollars and still the Student Player says no
That University contacts him again with Trinidad Chambliss and Jaxon Dart calling him and offering 2 Million Dollars
The Student still says NO. But in another 24 hours after that, said University has gotten his commitment and he is asking to opt out of the Contract he just signed less than 1 week earlier .
Even the NFL has Guard rails. If teams attempted something like this the other Team would get Draft picks and compensatory Damages.
This is total Insanity

Our cherished institution that was college football once controlled mainly by dirty money and dirty tricks by the likes of Alabama, Ohio State, USC, Oklahoma, Miami, Nebraska, Texas and Notre Dame is to be mourned for? Not I.
I'm not for the Wild West of today, either, but nostalgia for a bygone era that played favorites is not my thing. Add some rules to the current circus, and you still get a more level playing field without a precious few calling the shots.

It's not insanity at all. The universities have fought tooth and nail so that collegiate athletes ARE NOT considered employees of the school. The universities are trying to have it both ways.Caregiver1 wrote: ↑23 Jan 2026 22:21 pm Can you Imagine.
